XVA Process Officer Trainee
Responsibilities
The role is to provide trade support to the XVA desk within the Fixed Income business, specifically around the process of compression and optimization on the rates/credit/fx/equity perimeters as related to counterparty credit risk. These compression/optimization runs enable the bank to reduce its exposure to counterparty defaults and help manage its regulatory capital requirement.
The key responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:
XVA Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of XVA topics, IT tools, workflows, and industry practices
Process Improvement: Conduct regular process reviews and set up new procedures. Participate in automation projects
Portfolio Optimization/Compression: Manage daily controls, reconciliations, and portfolio optimization for various asset classes
Trade Support: Handle trade back-loading, control monitoring, and troubleshooting system and P&L issues
Quality Control: Perform daily checks, manage exceptions, and contribute to dashboards and KPIs
Collaboration: Communicate effectively with key decision-makers and participate in monthly governance meetings
External coordination: Liaise with compression/optimisation vendors, managing the data submission to them and the review process on their proposals
We work in standard business hours, but it might be required to start at 7 AM or end at 7 PM occasionally to manage some external dependencies with vendors
Profile required
We expect from the candidates:
Student status for the whole internship, minimum 12 months (ideally studies related to finance)
Minimum availability of 25 hours per week
Knowledge of financial products, especially derivatives
Very good knowledge of spoken & written English
Knowledge of MS Office, advanced Excel skills will be an advantage
Very good organization of work: attention to details, meeting deadlines, commitment and conscientiousness
Good communication skills and ability to work both in a team and independently
Strong risk culture and professional conduct
