HIGHLIGHTS OF THE JOB
Hello, my name is Mohamed and I have been a Technical Architect at Societe Generale since 2016.
My job is to define and maintain the technical architecture of an information system. I have to guarantee the coherence, evolution and the continuity of all composing elements: databases, networks and operating systems. I work on the whole chain from conception and development to the solution deployment.
My work has an actual and significant impact to ensure the bank's activity and the functioning of the tools for clients and bank advisors.
In my opinion, a core skill for a Technical Architect is to keep a technology watch. It is a driver of innovation. It is necessary to be open-minded and to get uploaded on the latest IT news in terms of technology, development, design and methodology.
On the technical side, I work on a daily basis with Java and React.js, the main technologies used today in the unified system of the Societe Generale IS Departments. I work with Grafana, which is a great solution that creates and shares dashboards to track applications in real time.
Societe Generale is an excellent playground for IT projects and there is really a lot to do. When you join the Group, you realize the endless possibilities and projects you can work on. For example, for internal cloud computing, we have the tools, the means and the teams to do it. Those are very formative and huge experiences.
