Graduate Trainee - Compliance
Responsibilities
Major Accountabilities/Principal Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will support the Australia Compliance team with day-to-day Compliance tasks as well as other project-based activities as required.
Major tasks:
- Responsible for tracking all interactions with Australia regulators in an organized and auditable manner.
- Responsible for responding to some Regulator inquiries either in written form (drafting documented responses) or on conference calls.
- Responsible for executing the implementation of the supporting documentation required to meet the regulatory requirements of all SG Australian entities including manuals, obligations registers and local policies.
- Contribute to robust and effective compliance controls within the organization.
- Responsible for the execution of some controls and approvals, especially Personal account dealing approvals and tracking and visitors management and tracking.
- Responsible for preparatory work related to Compliance training program
- Responsible for production of regional reporting and other regional projects as required.
- Assist Compliance management with the preparation of Committee meeting materials.
- Other daily tasks include assisting the compliance team to manage day to day compliance obligations, and compliance team mailbox management.
- Monitor compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies.
- Remain up to date on the legislative, regulatory environment that SG operates in.
- Create compliance resource library for staff members to reference.
- Review existing policies that require review and updating.
Profile required
Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Required:
- Tertiary qualification in Law and another discipline (e.g. Arts, Commerce, Economics or Science) or Business degree.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office generally
- Knowledge and understanding of Australian laws, regulations and guidelines in relation to banking and financing activities and a working knowledge of related areas of law and regulatory environment
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies
