Responsibilities

We are looking to appoint a Trainee to join our Business Management Office “BMO” team in Singapore offering an initial one-year traineeship program.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but is not limited to:

  • Supporting the BMO APAC team in the oversight and coordination of the Know Your Customer (KYC) processes - Client onboarding, KYC review and Offboarding - for GLBA in the region:

              o Coordinating and liaising with the GLBA Product Lines / Coverage officers, KYC teams and Compliance, ensuring KYC processes are timely and efficient managed for GLBA perimeter.

              o Prioritizing business requests for KYC team, monitoring the progress of the KYC reviews and identifying late reviews requiring attention, helping and guiding GLBA Product Lines / Coverage

                 officers when required, conducting ad-hoc analysis.

              o Identifying non-revenue generating clients for offboarding, performing activity checks.

              o Collaborating with KYC teams and GLBA Product Lines / Coverage officers on shared topics.

  • Supporting BMO APAC and BMO Singapore team in the management of financial / operational / compliance / regulatory risks 

              o Implementing and maintaining the first level permanent control framework

              o Performing regular and ad-hoc controls, participating in the implementation of corrective measures in the event of anomalies        

              o Contributing to the local risk management and governance

  • Supporting BMO APAC in the monitoring of the performance of the Product Lines and Client Franchise, contributing to ad-hoc local and regional strategic initiatives.

Profile required

Academic Background and Certifications, Experience:

  • Hold a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Business or similar
  • Understanding of banking products and financial industry
  • Previous working/internship experience in the financial field is preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Clear and effective oral and writing communication skills
  • A team player that is self-driven, responsive, possesses a positive attitude, resourceful and with the ability to work independently
  • Flexibility, pro-activity, curiosity and capable to multi-task
  • Rigorous, meticulous, and reliable

Operational Skills:

  • Analytical skills and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Good team spirit and ability to cooperate with different teams in different locations
  • Capacity to understand and manage risks
  • Ability to prioritize and operate under tight deadlines

Department Description:

The Global Banking & Advisory (“GLBA”) department is organized in 2 main teams:

“Products” which offers our issuer clients (corporates, financial institutions, public sector) with capital raising solutions, along with structured financing. GLBA develops tailor-made products and providing strategic advice (capital structure advisory, financing schemes and capital markets) based on its worldwide expertise and in-depth sectorial knowledge.

“Coverage” which manages and develops global commercial relations for all Coverage Strategic and Target clients; promote all Group products and services to Coverage  Strategic and Target clients and key Group clients (corporates, financial institutions, investment funds and family holding companies) and defines commercial strategies in collaboration with GBIS’s other business lines (GLBA and MARK), GBIS’s Regional Divisions (AMER, ASIA, CEMA and EURO) and the Group’s Core Divisions (French Retail Banking and IBFS)
