RISK DIVISION (RISQ)

Risk Management in the UK is organised along a three lines of defence model with well-defined and segregated responsibilities aligned with the Group framework as well as applicable local regulatory requirements and guidance. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is part of the second line of defence and aims to independently analyse, challenge, opine on and monitor the risk-taking activities of the Business Lines thereby enabling effective execution of the Bank’s strategy in line with its risk appetite.

Summary of responsibilities

Working with members of the RISQ team as well as colleagues from the Business and Service Units. Provide invaluable support for conducting the following core processes and related deliverables:

·       Conducting regulatory watch and supporting preparation of impact analysis

·       Preparation of newsletters

·       Co-ordination and relevant drafting of the annual Risk Identification and Inventories, Risk Management Frameworks, Risk Appetite Frameworks, Risk Appetite Statements

·       Reporting requirements re: Risk Appetite

·       Supporting relevant aspects of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process

·       Preparation of papers for senior management reviews

·       Preparation of ad-hoc analyses, benchmarking, etc as required

Profile required

Competencies

The ideal candidate should have a good basic knowledge of financial services and market activities. A good understanding of Risk Management in a banking environment is essential, as is the ability to work autonomously and take own initiative where necessary. Flexibility and adaptability, the ability to handle ad hoc requests in a timely fashion and excellent communication skills are a must, as well as being a good team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and working collaboratively. A strong understanding of and passion for Risk culture and reliable professional conduct is required. The candidate should also be able to demonstrate risk awareness and good conduct behaviours and compliance with internal policies. They should be able to work well under pressure and have a willingness to learn. A degree in Finance or a related field is advantageous.
