Role: Senior Credit Analyst (Individual Contributor)

Credit Portfolio Management (CPM) manages GLBA's (Global Banking & Advisory) loan book globally with the objective to enhance capital optimization and disciplined portfolio management. We are seeking dynamic and analytical individuals to join our CPM – Real Assets and Infrastructure (RAI) Team, covering diverse business areas including Power, Infrastructure, Mining, Oil & Gas Reserve Base Finance, Leverage Finance, TMT, and Real Estate across AMER, UK and Europe.

Key Responsibilities include:

·       Preparing credit applications for Annual Reviews, Semi-Annual / Quarterly Reviews, Amendments & Waivers requests to assess counterparties’ credit quality and assign ratings.

·       Cover key aspects in the reviews including but not limited to Company / Industry Analysis, analysis of sector specific KPIs; sources of repayment (identify, analyze and qualify); detailed analysis of historical financials, rating proposal, leverage lending calculations, risk & mitigants, financial projections and comparing actual results with Company budget and SG Projections, repayment capacity based on the projections, guarantee / collateral analysis, highlighting Early Warning Signals and watchlist applicability, Unlikeliness to Pay events and final recommendation with guidance from onshore Team Lead.

·       Outline terms & conditions of the relevant legal documentation (i.e. Credit Agreements for Syndicated and Bilateral facilities, Reimbursement agreements, Guaranties, ISDA, CSA) and identify the underlying risks associated with a transaction. Discuss with onshore the impact of changes in the T&Cs as necessary to comply with SG’s risk appetite and policies and incorporate them into your analysis.

·       Manage RWA parameters of transactions and ensure correct system input.

·       Perform ongoing monitoring of client credit quality including but not limited to monitoring covenants, calculating covenant cushions and other early warning signals.

·       Assure all reviews and obligor risk ratings of assigned portfolio are done within prescribed timelines.

·       Assure post approval activities and other credit related tasks are completed on time.

·       Interact regularly with onshore stakeholders on deliverables and timelines and deliver as per expectations.

·       Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and credit policies for the portfolios assigned.

·       Be proactive to take up ad-hoc and complex assignments while not impacting the scheduled annual reviews.

·       Develop fair understanding of SG applications, policies, and processes.

Profile required

Skills

·       Adequate financial analytical skills and understanding of accounting (local GAAP and IFRS), legal, and regulatory issues governing relevant sectors.

·       Experience in project finance / structured finance transactions including but not limited to LTV analysis, cash flow projections, assessment of counterparty’s repayment capacity and strength of the guarantors / collateral; and recommend mitigation strategies with guidance from onshore leads.

·       Ability to understand complex financial models and assess ongoing viability of the projects. Familiarity with contracts [including but not limited to Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and Power Purchase Agreements (PPA)] and understanding of legal structures related to project finance.

·       Reasonable understanding of various legal agreements (term sheets, Credit Agreements, ISDA & CSA, GMRA, GMSLA, SBLC agreement) and ability to evaluate the strength of the credit terms, financial covenants, security, and collateral.

·       Fair knowledge of capital markets / traded products, commercial financing facilities and investment banking products.

·       Report writing skills particularly assessing and summarizing financial transactions (credit requests, covenant waivers, etc.) to arrive at meaningful recommendations.

·       Ability to prepare financial models / forecasts for complex structures on various scenarios with guidance from onshore.

·       Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

·       Knowledge of market data tools like Thomson Reuters, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, SNL, etc. is recommended.
