Senior Network Security Engineer
Responsibilities

The Network Department (HCS) delivers comprehensive network and network security services, offering expertise across key areas such as routing, switching, and firewalls. Our network specialists in Canada and the United States work diligently to ensure high-quality service for critical environments across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, while also supporting business partners in meeting their needs.
You will join a team of 20 engineers dedicated to network and security administration.
What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Managing technical projects including involvement from local and global application, infrastructure, governance, and client teams.
- Providing level 2/3 operations support:
o Monitoring during business hours
o Daily morning check reports communication
o Operational process & documentation improvement
o Participating in on-call during non-business hours
- Incident management:
o Detection and communication during business hours
o Managing Level 2/3 operations incidents and problems
- Request management:
o Prioritizing daily requests and delivery
- Change management:
o Change delivery during non-business hours, including weekends
o Change configurations peer review with Level 3
The team operates in an Agile environment (Scrum).
Profile required
Skills and Qualifications:
Must Have:
- 5+ years of experience in data network and/or network security operations, and experience in Financial Market Accesses
- Good working knowledge of the following:
o Firewall Operations such as Fortinet, Checkpoint
o Internet services and protocols
o Web Proxy or similar
o Remote and Site to Site VPN technology
o Load balancers like NetScaler and F5
o General understanding of the network security standards
- Strong knowledge of ITIL - IT Infrastructure management best practices
- Strong organizational skills with a capacity to prioritize multiple requests or incidents
- Ability to adjust to new environments, work effectively in varied situations and function in changing circumstances.
- Willingness to participate on on-calls schedule which include overnights and weekends based on team’s needs (approx. once a month).
Nice to Have:
- Good working knowledge of the following:
o Network Security Automation and DevOps experience
o Unix system management
o Cisco Switching/Routing technologies (BGP, OSPF, VPC, traffic engineering, etc.)
o Scripting/Python/Ansible or other automation skills
- Experience working in an investment banking environment
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, DEC, or equivalent technical Certifications
Languages: English, French
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
