Responsibilities

Responsibilities: 

  • Understand Front Office business / trading strategies, our products and models of Fixed Income and Equity trading business including flow and exotic products
  • Perform Risk Analysis for the trading at regular or ad-hoc basis
  • Monitor and explain Risk Metrics breaches against the defined limits / thresholds
  • Periodical communication with front office to obtain sufficient understanding of trading positions and strategies, and to monitor the risk taking status
  • Daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting of monitoring and analysis result
  • Monitor market movements and their impacts on the business performance: developing notably income attribution and performance analysis
  • Analyse on results, analysis of disputes and discrepancies
  • Optimization and automation of BAU processes, including design and maintenance of EUC tools
  • Preparation of reports for internal or external stakeholders, including regulatory reporting
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks requested by internal or external stakeholders
  • Cooperation with regional risk production team to solve any issues in the course of daily risk monitoring

Department Description

Japan Risk division covers supervision of all risk areas as LoD2 (defense line) function, e.g. market risk, credit risk, operational risk and liquidity risk, of all operating entities in Japan, Societe Generale Securities Japan Limited (SGKK), Societe Generale Tokyo Branch (SGTB) and SG Haussmann Japan Limited (SGHJ). The division is responsible for market risk management as primary monitoring function including production of periodical reports to entity management and risk data analysis in addition to above supervisory roles. 
The market risk analyst focuses on fixed income, equity derivatives or treasury activity, and its entity specific production, analysis, comments and preparation of market risk report and relevant regulatory reporting. It is also responsible for facilitating communication with trading desks to conduct ad-hoc reporting and analysis associated to business performance and risk consumption. In addition to the key roles of market risk analysis, it is required to perform compilation of risk reporting and data analysis relating to counterparty credit risk and operational risk incurred from trading activities including analysis of Central Counterparties in the course of daily duties.
