Responsibilities

The “Global Banking Technology & Operations” (“GBTO”) department has worldwide responsibility for supplying Global Banking and Investor Solutions (“GBIS”) with all the technology and operations resources necessary for them to function under competitive conditions in terms of technological standards, service quality and cost.

The GBTO technology division is responsible for front-office systems development globally, supporting trading activity in America, Europe and Asia. Focusing on Fixed Income, our group provides pricing tools, negotiation engines, market connectivity and other trading system applications. The New York and Montreal teams supports the rapidly growing New York trading desks with a combination of in-house and vendor systems. All teams in our group are co-located on the trading floor and have daily interactions with our users.

Part of a global setup for FIC activities (Rates, Cash, Emerging, Forex, structured products and Credit), the pricing team develops on a common platform, with applications deployed in Paris, London, New York and Hong-Kong. The team has a long history of relying on Agile and continuous delivery methodologies (Kanban) and tools (Jira / GitHub / Jenkins / TeamCity / OctopusDeploy).

The Pre-Trade front office group supports the AMER Rates Desk. Our functions include but not limited to business analysis, curve stripping, pricing, streaming, data analytics, trading tools development and reporting.

The Pricing Team is currently looking to hire a motivated, proactive and highly contributing Full-Stack Application Developer to work on strategic projects that require an accelerated time-to-market.
The Pricing Team develops and supports the main real-time pricer used by Traders and Sales globally for Fixed Income and Interest Rates Derivatives activities on both G10 and LatAm markets: curve construction (stripping), pricing, streaming, backtesting, data-analytics, …

The team works using Agile methodologies and the applications interact with various internal and external systems such as Bloomberg and Reuters (Refinitiv).

This position includes client and server-side development. The candidate will be involved in the entire development lifecycle – from gathering business requirements with traders and sales, to developing, testing, releasing and supporting the applications managed by the team. The candidate will be expected to follow Agile, continuous delivery and change management processes.

As part of this position, you will:

  • Build applications for various Front Office businesses.
  • Act as one of the main points of contact with the Fixed Income front officers in New York office (i.e. traders, sales, quants, ...) regarding the various pricing tools they use.
  • Design and develop strong real-time pricing solutions and data analytics tools for the traders (full stack development: front to back).
  • Be responsible for software releases, configuration, monitoring and support of such tools, services, components and infrastructure.
  • Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 end users support and assistance.
  • Troubleshoot technical or functional issues in a complex financial environment to provide timely resolution, with various applications and platforms that are global.
  • Work with users to understand and gather their business needs. Then, translate this into IT specs and participate on the required developments.
  • Work with senior developers to propose designs and implement the project accordingly.
  • Manage several streams of work concurrently.
  • Rely on IT best practices to improve quality of development.
  • Ensure code is well tested.
  • Get in touch with our teams abroad to deploy and adapt existing European and Asian tools.
  • Bring a passion to stay on top of DevOps trends, experiment with and learn new CI/CD technologies.
  • Participate as a motivated, proactive and highly contributing member of the global team.
  • Ensure Agile and Continuous Delivery methodologies are followed.
  • Participate to the documentation effort to improve knowledge sharing within/outside the team.

Profile required

Education:

Required

  •  Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related subject.

Desired / Plus

  • Degree in Finance.

Experience Needed:

Desired:

  • Experience as an Application Developer in financial services industry (Front Office preferably).
  • Experience in Fixed Income pricing.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Strong object-oriented programming skills.
  • Experience developing applications using .Net C# or Java
  • Strong knowledge of programming design patterns including MVVM.
  • Comfortable with scripting language.
  • Knowledge of source-control tools, preferably Git.
  • Understanding of Agile and CI/CD concepts.
  • Experience working with Databases and SQL.

Desired:

  • Experience developing user interfaces using WPF, Angular or React
  • Proficient in Dependency Injection and Entity Framework
  • Multithreaded application development knowledge.
  • Experience in developing in Excel.
  • Knowledge of TeamCity, Jenkins and OctopusDeploy.

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
