Responsibilities

Our Fixed income Forex & Commodities (FIC) division is part of the Global Business Service Unit in Société Générale. We support a wide range of activities, from booking and pricing to contribution and full front-to-back processes for Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities products.

The Trading Tool team is responsible for developing and maintaining front-office trading applications that are used daily by traders for market making.

As a C# Developer you will play a vital role in the full software development life cycle (SDLC) - designing, building, testing, and deploying high-performance applications. You will work closely with a distributed team (based in France and Poland) in a fast-paced, collaborative environment were English is the main working language.

Your future scope of responsibility will cover:

  • Building, delivering, and running applications, using craftsmanship and best coding practices.
  • Developing and supporting features in a functional application chain.
  • Breaking down technical and functional requirements into detailed user stories and collaborating closely with the product owner and business analysts.
  • Delivering and supporting the application via continuous delivery (DevOps).
  • Writing unit tests, reviewing the code to be delivered and contributing to non-regression testing.
  • Maintaining and improving production support for existing features.
  • Recommending and implementing process and performance improvements.
  • Providing clear, consistent updates to clients and management.
  • Working with the following tech stack: C#, .NET, .NET Framework, ElasticSearch, WPF, MS SQL / PostgreSQL, REST WebAPI, Github, Jenkins, TeamCity, RabbitMQ, Kafka. Methodologies: Agile, TDD.

Some milestones to be expected this year:

  • Migration to .NET8.
  • Opportunistic migration from heavy client to REST API & web User Interface.

Profile required

You will be best suited for this role if:

  • You have at least 3 years of professional experience in backend software development (C#).
  • You are proficient in multi-threaded programming and have worked with microservices architecture.
  • You have solid experience with WPF and a strong knowledge of its API design as well as best practices of implementation.
  • You communicate in English confidently.
  • You are a team-player, enjoying knowledge sharing, and are proactive in problem-solving.
