TRAINEE: Internal Audit – Business Auditor
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate risks on audited activities
- Execute and document the assigned work within budgeted time and quality
- Draft of preliminary audit points to raise audit findings
- Follow-up of the implementation of audit recommendations
- Prepare risk assessment & work programs
- Improve audit tools
- Assist with team administrative tasks or other change initiatives
Candidates with outstanding performance will be considered for early conversion to permanent roles.

The Trainee role is a full time 24-month contract with Societe Generale where you will have access to a diverse range of training materials to help you succeed, covering various aspects of businesses, including but not limited to technical skills, leadership development, communication skills, client service and relationship management. To be eligible, please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of Trainee contract.
Profile required
- Hold a relevant bachelor's or master's degree in finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or similar
- Previous working experience in Finance/Audit/Compliance/Risk/IT/Data field preferable
- Appetite to learn new things and develop audit skills
- Good analytical skills and at ease with data
- Good attention to detail
- Self-motivated and driven to complete own task and teamwork to a standard of quality
- Taking accountability for his/her action
- Agile and able to multi-task
- Generating creative and practical ideas at work (e.g. Think out of the box)
- Positive attitude and able to work with all levels of staff
- Experience with Microsoft office: Working knowledge of Excel VBA and SQL. Practical experience of data programming, data analytics or data research desirable
- Good communication, presentation and report writing skills
- Fluent spoken and written English is mandatory, good spoken Mandarin / French preferable

Department Description:
The Inspection General and Internal Audit Division (IGAD) is Societe Generale Group 3rd line of Defense under the authority of the Head of Inspection and Audit, who reports directly to the Group's Chief Executive Officer. Audit is organized in geographical and functional zones, while General Inspection on top of audit work covers more particularly major risks for the Group, transversal topics and strategic issues.
The main role of IGAD is to review operational entities in an objective, thorough and risk-based manner to assess the compliance of the Group’s operations, the level of risk actually incurred, the enforcement of procedures and the effectiveness and relevance of the corresponding permanent control set up. IGAD issues recommendations in order to better manage risks and to increase the efficiency of the Group’s activity.
The position is within the Central Functions (CEN) Audit Team based in Hong Kong.
