V.I.E. Structured Solutions & Mobility
Responsibilities
At Societe Generale, you will be joining the Global Finance entity of SG Corporate and Investment Banking. We provide our issuer clients (corporates, financial institutions, public sector) with capital raising solutions, along with structured financing and commodities, forex and interest rate hedging. Developing tailor-made products and providing strategic advice (capital structure advisory, financing schemes and capital markets) based on our worldwide expertise and in-depth sectorial knowledge, we aim to meet their financing needs. We are a top player across euro debt capital markets and won many international accolades over the years as a worldwide leader in export, project and natural resources & energy finance.
Tasks and responsibilities:
A. Technical:
1. Understanding of concepts underlying structured finance transactions including in a cross border context. This may relate to specific areas such as tax-based or leasing, asset-backed financing or more general areas of structured finance
2. Ability to assist in the execution of structured finance transactions including legal documentation, risk and financial modelling aspects
3. Understanding of the risk concepts (conduct, reputational, financial, etc.) underlying the governance process for SSL, GLBA, and the SG Group
B. Behavioral:
1. Communication skills – ability to communicate internally with SG teams and external counterparts. Fluency of English (speaking and writing skills) is required
2. Client orientation - demonstrate appropriate standard of behavior for dealing with clients
3. Team spirit – experience of working with people with diverse, international backgrounds and leading teams, where appropriate
4. Commitment – ability to manage self in prioritizing tasks and managing competing deadlines
5. Responsibility – demonstrate the appropriate standard of conduct in relation to governance and compliance issues in line with the SSM governance, the SG Group Values, Code of Conduct, and other applicable rules & regulations

Profile required
PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies:
- Graduate with a Master's degree from a Business School or University
Language skills:
- Fluent in English (write/read/speak)
- Additional language skills are a plus
Operational, technical & soft skills:
- Fluent in Microsoft office tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
- General understanding of structured finance
- Good understanding of financial regulatory and tax environment
- Strong quantitative skills
- Ability to work on different topics at the same time under high pressure deadlines
- Strong curiosity and desire to learn more about the business
- Ability to work well and effectively on a team
- Highly adaptable to a new working environment in a different country
- Ability to conduct oneself in an appropriate and responsible manner both with internal teams and external counterparts
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in New York is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.
In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
