Responsibilities

The Program & Portfolio Management (PPM) plays a pivotal role in steering and optimizing the portfolio Investment to ensure alignment with strategic goals, maximize value delivery, and manage risks effectively. This role requires a strong ability to challenge, Program, Project, business cases, lead arbitrage processes, and represent GBTO ExCo in front of business lines, driving impactful decision-making and portfolio performance.

Our team is focused on delivering value and strategic impact by:

  • Steering the portfolio to ensure effective allocation of resources and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Analyzing the performance of strategic programs, including delivery, value creation, capacity, and risk management.
  • Coordinating the arbitrage process based on business and value case analysis, ensuring the best use of the allocated budget.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior management, challenging business cases, and driving decisions that maximize the value of every euro spent.

This position is part of an ambitious setup in Poland, complementing the Paris team, with a focus on high-value portfolio steering.

 Your future scope of responsibility will cover:

  • Steering and optimizing your own project portfolio to maximize strategic impact and value delivery.
  • Monitoring portfolio performance with a focus on value, delivery, capacity, and risk analysis.
  • Leading the arbitrage process, ensuring decisions are grounded in robust business and value case analysis.
  • Representing GBTO ExCo in front of business lines, acting as a strategic partner to challenge and refine business cases.
  • Organizing and preparing Senior Committees, Business Reviews, and Portfolio Reviews to ensure transparency and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Supporting the structuring of large-scale, cross-functional projects.
  • Driving continuous improvement of the PPM process, providing training and guidance to stakeholders.
  • Acting as a custodian of the PPM framework (methods, processes, and tools) while ensuring its execution aligns with the operating model.

Profile required

You will be best suited for this role if:

  • You have 10+ years of experience with at least 5+ years in program management, portfolio steering, ideally in a Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) environment.
  • You have a proven ability to analyse, challenge, and steer portfolios, proactively driving value creation and managing risks.
  • You possess strong communication skills and the right posture to engage with top management and senior stakeholders.
  • You have experience leading arbitrage processes, challenging business cases, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • You have a deep understanding of financial environments and can translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • You hold a PMP or other relevant certification (preferred but not mandatory).
  • You have advanced Excel skills for high-level data analysis, reporting, and process improvement.
  • You are fluent in English (oral and written).
