Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

* Develop and Implement Resiliency Strategies: Design and implement comprehensive IT resiliency strategies, including disaster recovery plans, business continuity plans, and high availability solutions.

* Design and Test Recovery Procedures: Develop and document detailed recovery procedures for critical systems and applications and conduct regular testing to ensure effectiveness. This includes failover/failback testing, disaster recovery drills, and tabletop exercises.

* Clear Objectives: Define specific goals for each exercise.
* Detailed Plan: Create a comprehensive plan with roles, responsibilities, and communication protocols.

* Plan Updates: Keep the plan current and relevant by incorporating lessons learned from exercised, changes in technology, and evolving threats.

* Communication Protocols: Establish clear communication channels and protocols for all the stakeholders during a DR exercise.

* Automate Recovery Processes: Identify opportunities to automate recovery processes to improve speed and efficiency, using scripting and other automation tools.

* Monitor and Maintain Resiliency Solutions: Continuously monitor the health and performance of resiliency solutions, and proactively identify and address potential issues.

* Collaborate with IT Teams: Work closely with other IT teams, including infrastructure, applications, and security, to ensure that resiliency is integrated into all aspects of IT operations.

* Stay Current with Industry Best Practices: Keep up to date with the latest trends and best practices in IT resiliency and make recommendations for improvements to our existing solutions.

* Plan Review: Conduct a thorough review of the disaster recovery plan after a disaster exercise to identify areas for improvement.

* Document and Report: Maintain accurate documentation of resiliency plans, procedures, and test results. Provide regular reports on the status of resiliency efforts to management. Document lessons learned and incorporated them into future updates.

* Evaluate and Recommend Solutions: Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve IT resiliency.

* Provide Training: Provide training to IT staff on resiliency procedures and best practices.

* Availability:  Willing to be available during weekends and nights to dive disaster recovery exercises.

Profile required

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Resiliency Engineer to join our team. This critical role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining solutions that ensure the availability, recoverability, and continuity of our IT systems and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, disaster recovery principles, and business continuity best practices.

Technical Skills:  
* Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including servers, storage, networking, and databases.
* Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
* Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity principles and best practices.
* Experience with disaster recovery tools and technologies.
* Familiarity with IT business continuity best practices.
* Strong Knowledge of change management process.
