Responsibilities

You will be part of the AMER Human Resources team based in the USA/New York office.
The position is within the career management team who is in charge of the management and development of human capital. We have more than 15 Human Resources Business Partners and a HR Middle Office in this AMER team.

In this team, you will work:

  • Closely with the International HR Business Partner (based in New York) who is responsible for the management and development of human capital for the Detache population, for all support functions and business lines, for the America’s Region. The International HR Business Partner is responsible for the operational implementation of the global International HR strategy and its roll out to their client group, as well as providing advice and guidance in relation to people issues in the region.
  • The HR Business Partners who are responsible for the management and development of human capital for a specific population of the Business, i.e. front office business lines or support functions. The HR Business Partner is responsible for the operational implementation of the global HR strategy and its roll out to their client group, as well as providing advice and guidance in relation to people issues in their region/business line.

Reporting and process improvement on International Mobility topics

  • On assignments: helping to improve our detaches cost follow up, contracts / visa end dates
  • Improving internal processes related to International Mobility such as short-term assignments
  • Career management and staffing strategy
  • Part of the extension/localization processes
  • Intervenes on the expatriation strategy definition

This position will enable the candidate to learn different technical aspects on International Mobility

  • AMER immigration
  • Tax aspects
  • Expat Package calculation
  • Social contributions aspects

It will be also the opportunity for the VIE to learn about the HR generalist role and to have a better understanding of others HR roles such as benefits, HR Middle Office, as he/she will have to work with those teams.
The role will provide the VIE with the opportunity to learn HR risk management concepts in an operational setting.
The VIE clients will be from different business lines and support function, it will so give him/her a good overview on some of the main functions within the bank and will enable him/her to have a good understanding of the SG organization.
It will also enable the VIE to learn how to work in an international environment as in this position you have to work closely with HR teams in the different SG locations.
This role will give the opportunity to the VIE to work on both individual cases and projects, process improvement.
This role will enable the VIE to develop some skills like prioritization, assertiveness, adaptability.

A questionnaire will be provided to you in order to check your VIE (Société Générale and Business France) eligibility. For an efficient analysis of your application, please make sure to truthfully answer all the questions.

Please note that for the missions outside the European countries, a VISA is necessary. Please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure. Otherwise, we strongly advise you to launch asap the renewal of your passport.

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Human Resources
  • A previous experience, at least 6 months internship, in a Human Resources department would be appreciated

Language skills:

  • Fluent in English (B2-C1)

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient/Good command of MS Office

    The VIE assignment in a nutshell

    This VIE in New York is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.

    In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.

    The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
