V.I.E. Front Office Developer
Responsibilities
As part of Equity Derivative Front Office Technology team, you will oversee all agents in pre-trade lifecycle. The candidate will be exposed to the various investment banking sell-side processes from derivative product pricing and risk hedging in our in-house trading & risk management systems focusing on market volatility fitting.
You will work closely with traders and sales in a fast pace environment respond request.
You will attend daily scrum meetings and actively participate to regular prioritizations, sprints, and retrospectives.
You will implement solution in JVM language:
- Market parameters fitting system (volatility, dividends, repo...)
- Pricing system
Each developer is responsible for:
- Providing timely support on our software for Exotic and Volatility desks
- Designing, developing, testing, securing, and enhancing our APIs / tools
- Proposing recommendations for process improvement
- Ensuring that the code is actively maintained and up to date
The developer is responsible for all communication between his assigned team and users:
- Challenge requirements and advise on the good solutions
- Communicate on project status in a timely manner
- Promote and advertise on tools developed and used in HK

Profile required
PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:
- Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with specialization in Computer Science or similar
- A previous experience in Finance industry would be appreciated
Language skills:
- Fluent in English
Technical, operational & Soft skills:
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Able to work in the stressful environment of a trading floor
- Experience in Java and Spring Boot development
- Knowledge in developing modern web applications using JavaScript frameworks (Angular, RESTful API)
- Experience in Agile, TDD and continuous delivery (Jenkins, Sonar)
- Knowledge on Global Market activities and Equity derivatives products (exotic products would be a plus)
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Hong Kong is to begin November 1st, 2025, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
