Responsibilities

Intermediate Level Index/QIS Structurer role covering all aspects of Index Development & Structuring

Responsibilities

·   Index life cycle management from idea generation – structuring – index setup in SGI platform – trade execution – post trade reporting & follow-up

·   Help achieve P&L targets set for the team

·   Structuring solutions

o   Implementation of Quant Research ideas in investable format

o   Data Analysis and back testing complex strategies

o   Develop advanced tools and screeners

o   Ensure collaboration and smooth execution between involved teams.

·   Product Innovation - New Idea generation and work closely with Sales to develop various bespoke index offerings and product wrappers

·   Pitching the strategies to the sales & clients – Push to grow business, profitability & increase market share

o   Provide market knowledge, relevant and timely solutions, marketing support and tools to sales for existing products, newly developed products and complex bespoke transaction

o   Explain existing product offering to the sales, collaborate with them on client pitches (by joining client calls if needed)

·   Index & Trade documentation

o   Ensure index documentation is accurate and exhaustive

o   Basic trade documentation like term sheets etc.

·   Deal Execution

o   Execute relevant product transaction on behalf of SG Clients and price in line with policies and guidelines applicable.

·   Basic Negotiation Skills – Negotiating with trading, sales, external clients, external calculation agents and data vendors

·   Understanding of regulations related to implementation & execution of strategies

o   Ensure full adherence to the SG Engineering responsibilities including regular training as applicable to the regulatory requirements.

o   Responsibility to ensure that you take reasonable steps to be fully aware of, understand and comply with all regulatory requirements from all regulatory and statutory bodies, trading venues, etc. that are applicable to your role and business line

·   Leveraging & Replication setup across geographies

o    Organize and circulate deal information among sales, to foster pooling of interest, achieve greater notional for issues, extract more P&L from the same structure sold to one client

Profile required

 

Education

 

Solid education in finance, mathematics and economics.

 

Past experience

 

4- 8 years of previous relevant experience.

 

Languages

 

Fluent in English mandatory, other languages are a plus

 

Technical skills

 

·   Good Programing skills (Python/C++/VBA) depending on role

·   MS Office

·   Presentation Skills

·   Proficiency in Market Data tools e.g.  Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, FactSet etc.

Behavioural skills

·   Good Communication Skills

·   Basic Negotiation Skills

·   Handling high pressure situations (Multi-tasking/managing sales expectations)
