Responsibilities

Description of the Business Line or Department

The eFX (Electronic FX) team operates within the FX division, focusing on advertising and developing the electronic FX franchise of SG.  The team covers both Institutional (Hedge Funds, Asset Managers, Banks) and corporate clients through a wide range of FX instruments, including spot, forwards, swaps, and options, across major, minor, and emerging market currencies.

Summary of the key purposes of the role

As a trainee on the eFX Sales desk, you'll help promote and grow our eFX business. Your focus will be on assisting the sales team with daily tasks, improving internal processes, enhancing performance metrics, and supporting high-quality service.

Summary of responsibilities

  • Assist with the monitoring of clients’ volume and performance
  • Assist sales with preparation of client meetings
  • Help with onboarding new clients and new platforms
  • Help with extracting value out of the data
  • Help and assist clients and sales with day-to-day platform issues
  • Help design and improve standard operating procedures

Profile required

Competencies

  • The ideal candidate will hold a degree or equivalent in Economics or Engineering, specialisation in Finance highly advantageous
  • Basic FX Market Knowledge: Understanding of foreign exchange markets, currency pairs, and FX products (spot, forwards, swaps, options)
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Ability to clearly and professionally communicate with clients, traders, and internal teams
  • Analytical Skills: Capability to analyse market data, trends, and client needs to support sales strategies
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in handling trade details, client requests, and regulatory requirements
  • Data Analysis Skills: Comfortable with Excel and ability to perform simple financial calculations and data analysis
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Quickly identifying and resolving client or operational issues
  • Initiative and Proactiveness: Taking ownership of tasks and proactively seeking ways to add value
