Associate – Electronic Sales/Trader – Exchange Traded Derivatives
Responsibilities
Societe Generale is seeking an Associate level electronic sales trader for our Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETD) Sales & Trading team based in New York. The ETD team is a core part of our market-leading Prime & Clearing franchise within SocGen’s Global Markets business, providing real time coverage, execution consultancy, algorithmic trading performance analysis, risk management, and connectivity solutions for the Global Futures & Options and US Listed Equity Options markets. The role is based New York City.
Primary responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with clients, acting as their go-to resource for their listed derivatives electronic trading activity
- Articulate our capabilities to match clients’ execution objectives and collaborate with internal partners across clearing, product, quant, research and technology to deliver holistic solutions
- Actively manage and monitor client orders submitted electronically via FIX, Vendor ISVs, Algo, and sponsored market access
- Advise clients on strategy selection and lead regular performance reviews including Trade Cost Analysis
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities by understanding evolving client needs and market trends within the global futures and options space
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory and internal risk management policies while facilitating efficient and compliance trade execution
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to inform strategic recommendations and product positioning
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market structure changes, exchange rules and regulatory developments impacting listed derivatives markets
- Provide training and support to clients on new electronic trading functionalities, algorithms and market access solutions.
- Enhance customer relationships and take a consultative sales approach to cross-sell other products within the firm
Profile required

Within Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking, the Global Markets Division brings together the Research, Investment and Risk Management Solutions, Execution and Clearing, Prime Services, Equities, Fixed Income, Futures and Currencies & Commodities structuring capabilities with the objective of providing investors with one integrated multi-asset market solutions team. Global Markets is a leading player in derivatives, with unrivaled over the counter and listed derivatives expertise, as well as cross-asset and economic research. Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years of proven track record in electronic trading or related capacities, preferably client-facing
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, economics or related fields.
- Multi-faceted understanding of the listed derivatives market including: global exchanges, vendor platforms, execution algorithms and TCA, regulations, market structure and connectivity solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to distill complex topics into tailored and digestible formats with conviction
- Highly motivated self-starter who collaborates effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on both individual and team objectives
- Possess an analytical skill set with a solutions-oriented mindset, positive attitude and operates with the highest level of professional conduct and integrity.
- Prior experience with Fidessa’s OMS a plus
- Series 3, 7, SIE, 63 licenses required, or ability to obtain within 5 months of hire date. Additional licenses may be required subject to business-needs.

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
