V.I.E. Trade Support Analyst
Responsibilities
The Operations Department (“OPER”) handles the middle and back office functions for all Global Banking and Investor Solutions (“GBIS”) business lines (Markets & Financing) and International Private Banking. OPER implements all necessary means to ensure the operational, administrative and financial processing market and credit operations initiated by business lines. In addition, OPER ensures the control and security of transaction processing in accordance with current financial legislations.
OPER, which operates within GBIS, is responsible for the following at worldwide level:
- Making available all the resources required for the administrative and financial processing of market and credit operations initiated by the various Business Lines
- Performing level one auditing in accordance with regulatory requirements, and setting up all the facilities required for secure processing of transactions
- Managing operational risks
- Participating in drawing up economic and accounting results for SG Coverage and Investment Banking & International Private Banking operations
In this context, and in close relationship with the Front Office and all Support functions (Middle-Office, Back-Office, Risk Department, Finance Department, Market Activity Indicators Department, Information Systems Department…), you will oversee the following missions:
- Booking financial operations into the system applications under delegation of the Front Office in charge of the Swap transactions on Equity (Single stock, options and Index)
- Control the quality and the completeness of the information entered
- Analysis and regulation of the breaks raised by Middle-Office Control and other parties involved in the Front to Back chain
- Management of Front Office positions (Anticipation of secondary events related to OTC trades, Escalation to Front Office in case of any discrepancy…)
- Coordination between the Front-Office and the other support functions (Middle-Office Control, Back-Office, Risk Department, Finance Department, …) on the processing of requests for information and problem solving
You’ll also take part to the projects and the transversal tasks of the service:
- Participation in the projects of security and reliability of the control framework
- Participation in the impact analysis as part of development of new activities
- Participation in the design and improvement of production tools in VBA and Python (Booking, Pricing, Communication).

Profile required
PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:
- Graduate with a Master degree from Business School or University with a specialization in finance or financial markets
- A first experience in financial markets is needed, in order to master the financial products and the processes
Language skills:
Bilingualism (French & English);
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States
Technical, operational & Soft skills:
Deep knowledge and practical skills in Excel, VBA and financial mathematics
- Good inter-personal and partnering skills, a “team-player”
- Demonstrate initiatives, solutions oriented
- Ability to prioritize and work in a dynamic, deadline-focused environment
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Montreal is to begin April 1st, 2026, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24 months.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
