Responsibilities

Job Summary: To support the Financing & Advisory (F&A) team in the origination and execution of activities across a broad range of structured finance transactions by working closely with various business lines within Financing & Advisory department including both onshore teams and offshore teams regionally and globally.

Major Accountabilities:

•    Contribute directly to the South Asia business of the global F&A Group, in line with its strategy.
•    Support the origination and execution of mandates to arrange tailor-made finance transactions for clients, maintaining both an origination and distribution mindset.
•    Provide day-to-day transaction support, including structuring, pricing, preparing credit applications, conducting detailed financial analysis and modelling, managing due diligence processes, reviewing financing documents, and assisting the deal team leader to deliver best-in-class lending and advisory services.
•    Ability to prepare, customize, optimize, and maintain financial models for financial advisory and arrangement mandates, including creating and running scenarios and sensitivities, will be considered favorably.
•    Review and, where appropriate, supervise financial modelling tasks undertaken by junior staff, and complete more complex modelling tasks as required.
•    Stay abreast of developments across sectors, as well as current transactions and market opportunities.
•    Adhere to all relevant compliance practices and internal requirements related to the execution of advisory and lending transactions.
•    Manage internal processes related to the lending and advisory business (e.g., updating databases, writing credit applications, and completing system-based workflows).
•    Identify potential marketing opportunities and prepare pitch materials, including reviewing feasibility studies and conducting detailed financial model analyses, which may include financial advisory pitches.
•    Establish a network of contacts at key clients and prospective clients.
•    Monitor and follow up on client relationships, providing business line input regarding the periodic monitoring of transactions and their documented terms and conditions throughout the transaction lifecycle.
•    Supervise and develop junior team members (where appropriate), including delegating and reviewing tasks based on their skills and experience, while ensuring high-quality team execution.

Profile required

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Required: 

•    Bachelors Degree in Finance / Engineering / Commerce / Economics or CA / CFA/ MBA 
•    Experience in structured finance environment utilising similar tools, processes and procedures will be favourably considered 
•    Proven ability to succeed in a similar or related role, demonstrated through relevant projects, responsibilities, or achievements. 
•    Advanced Microsoft Excel including strong financial modelling skills
•    Experience in generating pitch material that is clear, structured, compelling, and comprehensive in addressing clients’ needs
•    Strong numerical skills with an advanced understanding of accounting concepts, financial statements and cashflows

The provision of financial advisory services and lending in the context of the energy transition is a key development focus. There is also a strong emphasis on leveraging both new and existing distribution channels. The team works closely with other business lines on joint mandates to offer integrated services.

The F&A business line in Asia-Pacific is responsible for the origination and execution of structured and project finance debt for clients and large projects across asset classes in Asia-Pacific, including renewables, energy transition technologies, Battery, Metals & Mining, TMT, and Infrastructure sectors (energy transition-related, general, and digital). Clients include owners, developers, and investors in these asset classes, as well as financial institutions, institutional investors, and pension funds investing in these sectors.
