You will join the Leveraged Finance Team in Frankfurt, focusing on origination and execution of leveraged finance transactions, often related to acquisitions by financial sponsors. Our work includes credit risk analysis of potential targets, assessing debt capacity, developing financing structures, actively marketing our ideas and arranging and underwriting LBO loans and bond solutions across Germany, Austria, and the CEE region. The team collaborates very closely with our London-based Leveraged Finance and Syndication teams, as well as Sector and M&A teams.

We are looking for an Intern in Leveraged Finance (m/f/d) for a period of minimum 6 months starting March 2026.

During your internship, you will:

  • Build cash flow models

  • Conduct credit risk analysis

  • Prepare client presentations and credit papers

  • Support administrative tasks related to loan and high-yield bond execution

  • Assist with monitoring the existing credit portfolio and related administrative tasks

Profile required

Studies & experience:

  • Master’s degree in Finance or Economics from a Business/Engineering School or University

  • Previous experience (e.g., internship) in banking (M&A, LBO, or Private Equity)

Language skills:

  • Fluent in English and German

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Strong quantitative and financial skills

  • Excellent command of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Highly motivated and reliable self-starter

  • Quality- and results-oriented with strong attention to detail

  • Open-minded and eager to learn

  • Proactive team player

  • Self-confident and disciplined
