Responsibilities

The successful incumbent is expected to develop and grow Global Transaction Banking (Payments & Cash Management, Trade Services, Supply Chain Finance) revenues from clients in Singapore and the rest of South East Asia in line with the overall strategy of the bank.

Key responsibilities consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate clients (a mix of Large Local Corporates and Multinational Corporates) and NBFI in Singapore, collaborating with SG’s corporate coverage teams 
  • Actively market and advise on Transaction Bankng products (bank accounts, payments, spot FX, liquidity management, WC lines, BG, LC/SBLC...) and services to Corporate and NBFI customers, deepening wallet share with existing portfolio of client and securing new clients/mandates
  • Participate in the elaboration of Global Transaction Banking Asia strategy and translate this strategy into concrete actions for South East Asia to achieve targets
  • Collaborate with relationship managers to identify new clients and opportunities, prepare client pitches, and demonstrate strong sales orientation
  • Promote cross-border synergies with other regions to enhance revenues from GTB business globally
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling products and services of other business lines of the SG Group to clients 

Profile required

  • At least 6 – 8 years’ experience in banking, with at least 3 years of experience in transaction banking and 3 – 5 years in client-facing roles. Previous experience in transaction banking/coverage role is a must Expertise on business
    • Direct sales relationships with clients and proven origination skills and ability to identify opportunities to develop business
    • Professional experience in cash management and trade finance business in Singapore
    • Deep knowledge on products / market conditions / competition in Singapore
    • Knowledge, contacts of Singapore/SEA Corporates and Singapore/SEA Based MNCs,
    • Capacity to conduct efficient meetings with clients / target clients to present capabilities of Société Générale’s Transaction Banking business and to understand clients’ needs in order to propose adequate solutions
    • Sensitivity to risk (credit risk, operational risks, regulatory and legal risks, compliance risk, etc)
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong ability to build up relationships to facilitate teamwork with other departments/business lines and internal stakeholders on transversal issues
  • Willingness to help develop the business in the region and enable new products/solutions locally

The Global Transaction Banking business line in Singapore, includes Payments and Cash Management Services (full range of services for Corporate/NBFI/PSP clients to handle their payments, manage their liquidity and short term financing needs), Trade Services (full range of Trade products (BG, LC/SBLC, invoice financing...) and services to Corporate clients & Financial Institutions), as well as Supply Chain Finance.
