Responsibilities

Société Générale GLOBAL BANKING & INVESTOR SOLUTIONS, is seeking an intern (W, M, O) to join the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team in Madrid. 
The selected candidate will work closely with analysts and associates on the execution of M&A transactions, supporting key tasks such as financial analysis, company valuation, and preparation of strategic materials for both domestic and international clients.

This is a unique opportunity to develop a career in investment banking within a dynamic and highly instructive environment.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Support in building financial models (DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions).
  • Prepare client materials: pitchbooks, teasers, company profiles, industry overviews.
  • Conduct industry research, market analysis, and monitoring of relevant transactions.
  • Assist in due diligence processes and information gathering.
  • Support in evaluating strategic opportunities for corporate and private equity clients.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams (ECM, DCM, Coverage, …).

Profile required

Studies & experience:

  • Student with a good Financial or Engineering background

  • Solid knowledge of financial accounting, corporate finance, and valuation

  • M&A / ECM or LBO knowledge

Language skills:

  • Excellent level in English (C1)

  • French is considered a plus, but not Mandatory

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Excellent command of Office tools (Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with financial tools such as Bloomberg and CapitalIQ is a plus
  • Ensures reliability of all analyses and figures
  • Knowledge of corporate finance concepts
  • Valuation, Financial Modelling knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn in a demanding environment
  • Proactive, team-oriented, and results-driven mindset
