Oracle DBA & Exadata CC administrator

Description:

Oracle DBA & Exadata Cloud at Customer (ExaCC) Administrator manages high-performance Oracle database infrastructure that combines the power of Exadata on premises with the flexibility of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This role blends traditional Oracle Database Administration (DBA) with specialized knowledge of engineered systems, cloud management, and infrastructure components.

Oracle DBA knowledge

• You will install Oracle software, creating databases, and configuring storage, memory, and network settings.

• Performance Monitoring & Tuning: you will use tools like AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) and ASH (Active Session History) to monitor health, tune SQL statements, and optimize database performance.

• Backup and recovery strategies (you will use RMAN, Data Guard, Flashback)

• High availability solutions (you will use RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate)

• Security & Access Management: Setting up user accounts, managing roles and permissions, and implementing security measures like TDE (Transparent Data Encryption).

• Patching & Upgrades: Applying critical patches and upgrading Oracle software versions to maintain security and stability.

• Capacity Planning: Monitoring disk space and resource usage to plan for future storage and processing needs.

• Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving database errors and performance bottlenecks.

Exadata CC Knowledge

- Deep knowledge of Oracle Exadata Cloud on Customer (CC) Administrator architecture, components (compute nodes, storage cells, InfiniBand network)

- Experience with Exadata Cloud on Customer (CC) Administrator - specific features: Smart Scan, Hybrid Columnar Compression, Storage Indexes, Flash Cache

- Understanding of Exadata patching strategies and maintenance

- Experience with ASM (Automatic Storage Management) and disk group management

- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or Exadata Cloud@Customer

- Manage account and consumption of the credits

Operating System Knowledge you will need

- Linux/Unix administration (most common for Oracle environments)

- Shell scripting for automation
