Join Société Générale as a Trainee in Leveraged Capital Markets – EMEA

Are you passionate about financial markets and eager to kickstart your career in leveraged finance? Société Générale’s Leveraged Syndicate team is looking for a motivated Trainee to support our dynamic team in pricing, underwriting, and syndicating leveraged loans and high yield bonds across the EMEA region.

About the Role

As a Trainee within our Leveraged Syndicate team, you will play a vital role assisting senior colleagues on Private Equity-backed deals and non-investment grade corporates. You will gain hands-on experience in market analysis, deal execution, and client marketing, while working closely with our origination teams and international syndicate partners.

You will be supported by a dedicated mentor and develop your skills across all aspects of leveraged capital markets in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior team members with analytical and presentation work under tight deadlines

  • Produce reliable market data and comparable transaction analysis to inform decision-making

  • Prepare weekly market updates and maintain databases of comparable deals

  • Assist in creating client pitches, marketing materials, and syndication road-show presentations

  • Collaborate with internal departments including Sales & Trading, Origination, and Financial Sponsors Coverage

  • Ensure compliance with all risk, regulatory, and confidentiality standards

Profile required

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong interest and knowledge in financial markets, macroeconomics, and geopolitical events

  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities with a high level of accuracy

  • Effective communication and presentation skills in English; additional languages are a plus

  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and eagerness to learn Bloomberg

  • Adaptability, initiative, and ability to thrive in a diverse team environment
