Responsibilities

Position Overview

The ECM Associate will play a key role in originating, structuring, and executing equity and equity linked transactions across the APAC region. The successful candidate will work closely with senior bankers, product partners, coverage teams, and internal and external stakeholders to deliver high quality execution on IPOs, follow on offerings, block trades, convertible bonds, and other equity related financing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Execution

  • Support the end to end execution of equity and equity linked transactions, including IPOs, rights issues, placements, block trades, and convertible bond issuances.
  • Prepare marketing materials, investor presentations, offering circulars, and transaction documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Legal, Compliance, Syndicate, Sales & Trading, Research) throughout the execution process.

Origination & Client Coverage

  • Assist in preparing client pitches, market updates, and strategic financing ideas to support senior bankers in business development.
  • Conduct industry, company, and equity-market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients.
  • Support the team in maintaining client relationships and preparing client-specific materials.

Market & Product Expertise

  • Monitor equity and capital markets developments, including trading flows, regulatory updates, volatility trends, and sector movements.
  • Develop strong expertise in equity and equity linked products, including pricing methodologies, investor dynamics, and distribution strategy.

Project Management

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders such including issuers, legal advisors, auditors, and stock exchanges.
  • Manage workstreams and timelines to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.

Profile required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in ECM, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or related capital markets roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin). 
  • Strong multi-tasking ability, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of equity markets, Hong Kong/PRC regulatory environments (HKEX, SFC), and capital markets products.

This is an in-scope position under the MRC Scheme. As per the Guidelines on the Mandatory Reference Checking (MRC) Scheme issued by HKAB, which have been endorsed by the HKMA, Authorized Institutions that are hiring staff for Relevant Positions need to obtain specific references from past employers for whom you have worked during the preceding seven years.
