Specialist Software Engineer - Python & Alteryx
Responsibilities
Roles and responsibilities:
- Platform Installation, Upgrades & Configuration
- Plan and perform regular upgrades and patching of Alteryx.
- Configure system settings: authentication, permissions, worker settings, connection limits, and gallery options.
- Ensure high performance through tuning server resources (RAM/CPU/Queue settings).
- Manage user accounts, roles, and authentication (SAML, Windows AD, built‑in auth).
- Assign correct permissions for studios, collections, workflows, and data sources.
- Maintain governance rules for publishing, scheduling, and data access.
- Backup, Disaster Recovery
- Licensing & Asset Management
- Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Support
- Maintain secure configurations (SSL certificates, encryption).
- Manage authentication and SSO integrations (LDAP).
- Ensure audit logging and compliance with company policies.
- Configure and maintain data connections (ODBC, MONGO,POSTGRE)
- Manage data source credentials, shared connections, and secrets handling.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues in workflows.
- Review logs and long‑running workflows to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with developers to improve workflow design and runtime efficiency.
- Adjust worker settings (threads, job concurrency, caching).
- Workflow Scheduling & Orchestration
- Manage job queues and ensure optimal load distribution across workers.
- Configure workflow dependencies and prioritization.
- Collaboration with Development/Business Teams
- Support workflow migration from development to production.
- Create guidelines and best practices for workflow publishing.
- Provide training and documentation for new users.
- Design, develop, and optimize Alteryx Designer workflows for ETL, automation, API integrations, and data preparation.
- Build robust, reusable components: macros (batch/iterative), frameworks, parsing modules, logging templates, and API connectors.
Profile required
We are seeking an Alteryx Admin and Developer, responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-grade Alteryx workflows while partnering closely with business teams to deliver scalable automation solutions. The role includes Alteryx admin, requirement gathering, functional analysis, workflow development, testing, documentation, and production readiness.
