Responsibilities
Société Générale Global Transaction Banking (GTB) includes payment and cash management, cash clearing services, trade services, factoring and foreign exchange services associated with these activities.
GTB integrates all the expertise and services required to facilitate the daily transactional activities of major economic and financial actors in both domestic and international environments. Trade Services (TRA) is a strategic activity within Société Générale, drawing on the expertise of a large international banking group with more than twenty years of experience. As Middle Officer Trade Services, you will support the GTB/Trade Services team in Amsterdam in executing trade transactions for Belgian, Dutch, and Nordic customers. You will report to the Coordinator of the Netherlands & Belgium Trade Middle Office.
The Netherlands & Belgium Trade Middle Office operates as a hub, with the TRA teams in SG Amsterdam and SG Brussels working seamlessly together. Each desk acts as a mutual backup, ensuring business continuity, efficient workload sharing, and consistent service quality to clients across the region. The successful candidate will therefore collaborate closely with both locations and contribute to the overall performance of this integrated hub model.
The Middle Officer Trade Services works in a fully integrated Netherlands & Belgium hub environment and interacts closely with the Front Office and Middle Office teams in both Amsterdam and Brussels. The role also involves regular coordination with our Head Office in Paris, as well as all GTB stakeholders, including Product Teams, Global Banker Teams, Relationship Managers, product development units, and the departments responsible for risk analysis and monitoring at Head Office. This cross border setup ensures consistent service delivery, operational continuity, and strong collaboration across the entire GTB network.

International Guarantees
Import Letters of Credit
Export Letters of Credit
Active cross-selling with the various Business Lines of the Bank, especially with GTB’s cash management and factoring departments
Tasks and responsibilities:
Support of the Trade Sales Team in executing Trade Finance transactions
Follow up on client requests and needs, and identify new opportunities
Close cooperation with Back Office teams in connection with monitoring/handling of client orders and other operational issues
Close cooperation with all teams within the global Trade Services Network, as well as with all supporting teams within Paris headquarters and other locations
Active cooperation with all other local business lines within the Amsterdam Branch
Managing administrative tasks in connection with Trade Services transactions (invoicing, internal & regulatory reporting etc.)
Create added value for clients pro-actively identifying synergies within the Global Transaction Banking Business Lines (like cash management or factoring)
Execute compliance checks before the transactions and obtain upfront compliance approvals before processing a trade transaction
Create or maintain RMA keys in order to manage the connected correspondent banks
Verify availability within credit facility before executing trade transactions
Participate in the permanent supervision activities of the trade services desk
Monitor validation of credit lines
Complete fluency in Dutch, English and French is required for this role.
The role requires a strong client service orientation, solid operational and process knowledge, familiarity with regulatory and risk frameworks, analytical and communication skills, and uncompromising professional integrity.
The ideal candidate is an effective team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), and is comfortable working in a cross-border, collaborative environment.
Profile required
Studies & experience:
Education: Relevant HBO bachelor level
Experience: minimum 3 years in Banking, Global Transaction Banking Trade Services
Language skills:
Dutch: C1
English: C1
French: C1
Complete fluency in the three languages is required

Soft skills required:
Pro-active team player but also able to work autonomously
Time management, organizational and planning skills with proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills for pitching, other languages could be useful for this position.
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders
Technical and operational skills required:
Highly proficient with Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and superior analytical and quantitative skills
- In Depth knowledge of trade finance products (letters of credit, guarantees, ..) minimum three years of proven experience
