We are seeking a professional to join the Global Banking & Advisory business (GLBA) Unit in Société Générale, a global financial institution that aims to support businesses, trade and transformation financially since its foundation in 1864. Role Summary

The successful candidate will be involved in the origination, structuring and execution of transportation assets financing - primarily aviation - across a wide range of structured finance transactions in the Asia Pacific market. Based in Tokyo, the candidate will work closely with teams in Paris, London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney as needed, as well as regional teams in other teams across APAC. The candidate will also collaborate with other areas of the bank such as Client Coverage, Loan Syndication, Sustainable Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Credit Risk Management and Market Risk Management.

Your Key Contributions

  • Supporting the overall arrangement of commercial loans secured by aircraft assets and Japanese Operating Lease (“JOL”) transactions

  • Origination, structuring and execution of JOL financings and other financing solutions for airlines and lessors as well as JOL financings for shipping sector owners and lessors 

  • Managing existing loan portfolios in collaboration with the Bank’s portfolio management and our middle office teams

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

  • Working closely with relevant teams within the global Societe Generale group (locally and globally)

  • Ensuring full compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, both local and global

  • Adhering to all internal policies, standards and procedures of Societe Generale

Profile required

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or a related field. c.3 years experience in aviation structured finance is preferred, but experience in other structured finance areas will also be valued.

  • Professional proficiency in both English and Japanese.

Capabilities and skills

  • Ability to independently manager internal and external processes (eg. market studies, pitch materials, credit applications, regulatory supports).

  • Strong collaboration skills for working with internal / external stakeholders in Japan and internationally.

  • Motivation to build a long-term career in aviation structured finance.

  • Understanding of banking business and relevant rules and regulations.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Ability to multitask effectively within a small, dynamic team.

  • Experience drafting and reviewing documentations in English and Japanese.

  • Excel-based cash flow modelling skills, including financial projections and credit analysis.

  • Knowledge of the aviation sector (aircraft, engines, airlines, leasing companies).
