About the team:
Within Societe Generale, the Energy Plus Group (EPG) is in charge of financing and advisory services for energy projects worldwide. Our franchise covers the following sectors : Power (thermal, nuclear and any related infrastructure), Oil & Gas (e.g, LNG, petrochemicals, refining, pipelines and storage), Renewables (including BESS) and any new energy transition technologies such as hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives and CC(U)S. Core clients are developers, large corporates as well as financial sponsors
Lending activity is governed by the following CORISQ and CRCs: LNG, Oil & Gas and Renewables
Our EMEA team comprises 40+ professionals based in London, Paris, Milan, Madrid and Dubai. The EMEA team functions as an integrated hub
Summary of Key Purposes of the Role:
The role of the position of Analyst within the Energy Plus Group is to assist in the origination, execution and distribution of project finance debt advisory and arranging roles in the energy sector
Responsibilities:
Transaction support to the relevant deal team leader on advisory and arranging mandates, to include:
· Build and run financial models as necessary
· Input and review of due diligence reports
· Credit analysis and assistance with preparation of credit applications
· Liaise with CPM and DCS in order to implement the OTD strategy of the bank portfolio management and distribution teams
· Review and structuring of project documentation
· Preparation of presentations
· Manage admin requirements including internal pricing, client on-boarding, KYC, permanent supervision etc
Origination and marketing support including:
· Preparation of marketing documentation and participation in presentations including through research in the bank documentation as necessary
· Participate in the development and maintenance of client relationships
· Liaise with CPM and DCS to prepare the distribution of the assets as necessary
· Keep up with industry trends across the sectors covered by EPG
General support, as required, within the team, including contribution to effective teamwork within the global team and with other groups in the bank including BMI, PU&I and any other business lines including equity advisory to provide clients a seamless advisory and arranging mandates to SG clients
Profile required
Skills and experience of a successful candidate
· Relevant experience gained in a project finance environment, ideally within the energy sector
· Excellent analytical and numerical skills. Scientific-based degree such as Engineering would be seen positively
· Strong project finance modelling and valuation skills
· Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills
· Strong interest and good level of understanding of the energy industry
· Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
· Fluency in a second language is an advantage, but not a requirement
