Investment Banking Associate - Equity Capital Markets
Responsibilities
The ECM department is a core business line of GLBA and is responsible for the origination and execution of all ECM transactions by SG Americas. This includes equity and equity-linked new issues. The department is fully integrated into the global ECM platform and works closely with counterparts in Europe and Asia.
The ECM Associate will play a central role in deal execution, client engagement, and market analysis, serving as a key contributor to both transaction delivery and origination efforts. The Associate acts as a point person on deal teams, supports client advisory initiatives, and provides real time market intelligence to senior bankers and clients.
Market Insight & Advisory
• Keep abreast of global equity capital markets developments
• Provide timely and relevant market updates, commentary, and analysis to ECM and Banking teams to support execution and origination strategy.
• Contribute to thought leadership and client facing market materials.- Client Coverage & Origination Support
• Serve as the point person on deal teams, organizing and coordinating the preparation of client presentations and pitch materials.
• Develop and participate in client pitches, advising on:
• Assist senior bankers in building and maintaining strong client relationships, with increasing exposure and responsibility over time. - Transaction Execution
• Support the execution of ECM transactions, including:- Preparation of marketing materials for JV equity sales and other transactions
- Coordination of internal and external workstreams during live deals
- Work closely with syndicate, sales & trading, legal, compliance, and operations to ensure smooth, timely, and compliant execution.
- Cross Border & Internal Collaboration
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with: ECM colleagues in Europe and Asia- U.S. industry banking teams
- Syndicate, sales & trading, and equity research partners.
Profile required
Technical Skills
• Strong proficiency in financial analysis and interpretation of capital markets data.
• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Hands on experience working with Bloomberg and market data platforms.
• Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, client ready materials.
Core Competencies
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Ability to work effectively within a team based, collaborative structure.
• Capacity to understand and analyze complex financial structures and securities.
Experience Needed
• Minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience in investment banking, equity capital markets, or a related financial services role.
• Prior exposure to ECM transactions or technology sector advisory is strongly preferred

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
