Responsibilities

An opportunity to join a fast growing, dynamic team at a large global Investment Bank. As an Investment Banking Associate at Société Générale in our Menlo Park office, you will play a crucial role in supporting our technology investment banking team in executing financial transactions and advising clients on strategic initiatives. You will be responsible for conducting thorough financial analysis, preparing presentations, and assisting in the execution of mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and other financial advisory services.

The Associate will work in a generalist capacity within a team of experienced Technology Investment Banking professionals and will have extensive exposure within the bank and with clients.  In addition to the usual responsibilities expected of an Associate, the successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Conduct detailed financial modeling and valuation analysis to support transaction decisions
  • Prepare pitch books and presentations for client meetings, articulating complex financial concepts in a clear and compelling manner
  • Prepare company profiles, and more detailed memoranda and presentations describing the key attributes of client companies and acquisition opportunities
  • Perform industry and market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive positioning
  • Assist in the due diligence process, coordinating with various stakeholders to gather necessary information across products (M&A, Equity Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, Private Placements, etc.)
  • Collaborate with senior bankers to help develop strategic recommendations for clients.
  • Monitor financial news and developments relevant to the investment banking sector and our clients
  • Support the execution of transactions by preparing documentation and liaising with legal and compliance teams
  • Participate in client meetings and calls, providing analytical support
  • Coordinate with internal functions to obtain all required approvals for the execution of transactions
     

Profile required

REQUIRED:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a solid understanding of financial principles
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Previous work experience in investment banking, finance, or a related field is preferred
  • SIE, Series 79 and Series 63 certifications. If not already obtained, must complete within five months of hire

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous work experience in investment banking, finance, or a related field

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors Degree from a top-tier university (preferably in Economics, Accounting, or Finance)

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
