V.I.E. Chief Operating Officer
Responsibilities
Distribution and Credit Solutions (“DCS”) is a joint-venture between SG’s Global Banking and Advisory and SG’s Global Markets business lines.
DCS in AMER (“DCS/AME”) is providing a one-stop-shop platform to address the evolving clients’ (e.g., asset managers, financial sponsors) needs while providing them with comprehensive and holistic solutions on the credit space (e.g., loans, securitized products). It covers a broad range of activities including structuring, engineering, financing, syndication, trading and sales.The organization is revolving around these key pillars: The organization is revolving around these key pillars:
- Syndication, Flow and Non-Flow
- Alternative Investment Origination (“AIO”)
- Asset Backed Securities (“ABS”)
- Capital Call Financing (“CCF”)
- Commercial Real Estate (“CRE”)
- Loans: MML and BSL financing, CLO
- Credit Trading and Sales.
DCS is a business line with approximately 150 full-time staff in the US, NBI circa $750m in 2025.
Responsibilities:
- The candidate would report to the Chief Operating Officer of DCS in the Americas, primarily involved with DCS in the Americas, while possibly also called to support DCS origination activities in Europe and Asia Pacific.
- Assist the Amer DCS business line in day-to-day activities, with a particular focus on COO-related tasks (which require a broad range of skills).
- Handle ad hoc requests, ensuring responsiveness and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Act as a key support function to DCS Front teams by coordinating client-related activities such as:
- Onboarding and KYC-related activities in close collaboration with Compliance, Risk, Legal and Operations.
- Monitoring and review of the existing client population, including participation in periodic review or remediation exercises.
Preparing and maintaining management reporting and key performance indicators to track activity, progress and quality.
Actively stay in touch and anticipate needs with all DCS staff across all teams (engineering and structuring, syndication, financing, trading and sales) as well as all support functions (Risks, Legal, KYC, Compliance). For instance, but not limited to:
- Assist in monitoring the business line performance and producing the indicators (distribution, performance, costs, RWA)
- Production of strategic review
- implementation of regulatory requirement
- improvement of operational framework (IT development may be required)
- development of new products and solutions

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:
- Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization/interest in finance
- A previous experience in finance would be appreciated
Language skills:
Fluent in English

Great flexibility to respond to questions and queries quickly and be able to shift priorities with a short notice
- Pro-activity, team spirit and ability to be a connector between all teams involved in the business line daily operations
- Sense of self-control and ability to work under pressure
- Capacity to think outside of the box and to look at the bigger picture in order to solve daily issues, as well as more long term developments.
- Good communication and presentation skills
- IT skills would be appreciated
- Proficient/Good command of MS Office
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in New York is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.
