TRAINEE: Coverage Banking (Financial Institutions)

The Trainee role is a full-time 24-month contract with Societe Generale where you will have access to a diverse range of training materials to help you succeed, covering various aspects of businesses, including but not limited to technical skills, leadership development, communication skills, client service and relationship management. To be eligible, please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of Trainee contract.
- Support and work closely with Coverage Banking Relationship Managers (RMs) in Hong Kong
- Support RMs on client pitch books, Account planning, preparation for client meetings, research on special projects
- Perform account opening/closing, new client on-boarding (including KYC) & loan pricing/profitability simulations
- Assist and manage client’s ongoing activities and enquiries on accounts and transactions
- Conduct researches/analysis and prepare documentations and reports (such as company profile, briefing notes, presentations and etc.)
- Coordinate with other departments of the Bank to ensure seamless delivery to client requirements
- Perform basic financial spreading for credit rating purposesCandidates with outstanding performance will be considered for early conversion to permanent roles.
Profile required
- Degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple assignments from different team members concurrently while prioritizing the duties assigned
- A team player that is self-driven, responsive, positive attitude, resourceful and able to work independently
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

This is a fixed term 24-month Trainee contract with Societe Generale. In order to apply for the Trainee position please ensure you have completed your qualification. Department Description
A Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Coverage role focuses on managing and growing relationships with banks, insurers, asset managers, and other financial institutions by serving as the primary point of contact for the client. The role involves developing a deep understanding of clients’ business models, strategic priorities, and risk profiles, and coordinating internal product partners to deliver integrated financing, risk management, and advisory solutions. FIG coverage professionals are responsible for originating business opportunities, structuring tailored solutions across lending, capital markets, and transaction banking, and ensuring strong credit discipline and ongoing portfolio management, while acting as a trusted advisor to senior client management.
