Responsibilities

  • Actively market make and manage risk in AUD FX Forwards, ensuring competitive pricing and consistent liquidity provision across client flows.
  • Support and participate in G10 FX Forwards and Rates trading, contributing to positioning, relative value ideas, and flow management across products.
  • Work closely with Sales across regions to deliver client solutions and enhance franchise relevance in Asia, Europe and Americas.
  • Monitor market developments, macroeconomic trends, and central bank dynamics impacting your market.
  • Maintain a strong focus on risk management, ensuring compliance with desk limits, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to P&L generation through disciplined risk-taking and prudent inventory management.
  • Participate in the development of junior team members and foster a collaborative team culture.
  • Ensure all trading activities adhere to Société Générale’s conduct, compliance, and governance standards.

Profile required

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant trading experience in G10 FX Forwards, Rates, or closely related products, within a top-tier financial institution.
  • Proven track record in AUD FX Forwards trading and market making; broader exposure to G10 FX and/or Rates products is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of macro drivers, yield curves, cross-currency dynamics, and funding markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risk and generate sustainable P&L across varying market conditions.
  • Experience operating in an electronic and voice-driven market-making environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Sales, Risk, and other stakeholders.
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline (advanced degree preferred but not required).

Department Description

Société Générale is seeking an experienced Vice President to Director-level Trader to join our Asia G10 Rates Trading desk. The successful candidate will play a key role in market making AUD FX Forwards, while also contributing to the broader G10 FX Forwards and Rates trading activities across Asia. This is a senior front-office role requiring strong risk management discipline, deep product expertise, and the ability to actively contribute to franchise growth in the region.
