Responsibilities

We are looking for self-motivated, passionate, and hardworking India based Back Office Operations Analyst (Trade Support) to support ever growing trading desk of the institutional services team. This institutional equity trading desk is responsible for trade execution in the Indian markets (NSE and BSE). The trading desk is organized with traders specialized in industry sectors and execute orders for custody settled institutional/non-institutional investors who utilize our research product and pay us commissions via brokerage business. This desk also uses our own proprietary algorithms to execute order for foreign and domestic customers. The Operations team role is to provide primary support to the core post-trade execution functions that layover both Indian and other APAC markets. This position interacts with multiple groups including the trading desk, technology, global operations, compliance as well as local Indian Banking & Back Office vendors.

Operations Analyst – India will support the India based equity trading desk. Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Global setup: Interacting with sales traders, dealers, and operation teams globally to provide support by booking trades, matching allocations, and escalating issues to senior operations team members.

  • Client Servicing: Assist in opening and maintaining institutional client accounts. Execution of India specific KYC processes. Tracking transactions, redemptions, and rejections statuses

  • Local Clearing Operations: Actively participate in resolving trade breaks, settlement issues by liaising with exchanges & client custodian banks, CTM/Manual Bookings, STP Confirmations, Exchange Reporting like OTR & 6A/7A, Margin reporting & other regulatory reporting, Pay IN & Pay Outs of funds and securities Settlements etc.

  • Global execution: Monitoring processing of all equity transactions between global/local order management systems, a proprietary global middle office system and India vendor based back-office systems. Assist in troubleshooting with vendor for issues if any.

  • Financial Control: Aid in daily reconciliation of cash & securities accounts to include settlements, corporate actions, dividends, stock loan, etc.; against the Firm’s external local clearing bank.

  • Audits and Inspections: Participating in various Audits and Exchange Inspections.

  • Global Markets: Support Middle office functions (CTM allocations, confirmations etc.) for other regional APAC markets from time to time.

  • Mindset: Learning various trading systems, global middle office system in a challenging, fast paced, and technical environment

  • Teamwork: Liaising with existing senior operation team members and global middle office teams to facilitate workflow of tasks

  • Technical: Sufficient knowledge of the India KYC, settlement, Banking & Reconciliation (Cash & Security Management), Risk controls processes.  Excellent knowledge of Word and Excel or similar software tools along with good analytic problem-solving skills and numeracy skills.

  • Communication: Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

  • Vendor: Experience with KGiSL Dolphin or similar back-office platform preferred.

Profile required

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in finance or economics with 4+ years of equity operations experience within the Indian brokerage industry. Preference will be given to candidate with knowledge of handling day to day India operations work for both institutional and custody settled non-institutional FPI & Domestic clients using KGiSL Dolphin back-office platform.
