Vice President – Energy Plus Group, and Battery, Mining and Industries

We are looking for a Vice President to join our team in Hong Kong and to support China related clients, sponsors and deals in this sector. Our team is responsible for the origination and execution of advisory and financing solution for the sector including power, utilities, energy, mining, metals, and clean technology industries. Responsibilities include:

• Contributing to best-in-class origination and execution of structured lending and advisory mandates. This may include assisting in origination, leading and supporting transaction executions, creating and analyzing financial models, generating ideas and contents for client presentations. 
• Aligning and cooperating with other regional teams, other departments or regions on related clients or activities to support global and regional business requirements.
• Contributing to the development of the China and APAC client base in line with company strategy and priorities.
• Strategic positioning of business and assist team heads in implementing the pre-determined strategy and other day-to-day business requirements including supporting rest of Asia Pacific business activities. 
• Building industry, client and peer contacts in the China market to develop a personal network within the local market.
• Supervision / development of junior team members including appropriate delegation and review of certain tasks suitable to the skills and experience of those junior team members whilst maintaining a high quality of overall team execution.

This is an in-scope position under the MRC Scheme. As per the Guidelines on the Mandatory Reference Checking (MRC) Scheme issued by HKAB, which have been endorsed by the HKMA, Authorized Institutions that are hiring staff for Relevant Positions need to obtain specific references from past employers for whom you have worked during the preceding seven years.

• Relevant experiences, with direct involvement of China clients and transactions. 
• Proven track record working with China‑related offshore assets or clients in the relevant sectors, including Chinese SOEs, founder led POEs, offshore subsidiaries, joint ventures, or China‑backed sponsors operating internationally. 
• Solid knowledge of credit, structured finance, project finance or corporate and leverage finance is a strong plus. 
• Good understanding of business environment, regulatory framework and sector trends.
• Strong commercial and credit acumens. 
• Self-motivated and ability to perform key transactional task independently. 
• Willingness and ability to deliver under tight deadlines.

Academic background and certifications, experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Science, Math, Technology or a related discipline. 
• Fluency in both Mandarin and English is mandatory, with excellent spoken and written capability in both languages. This includes delivering pitches and business ideas in Mandarin.
