Python Full Stack Developer
Responsibilities

Within the Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO) Division, the GCOO/CFT (Corporate Functions Technologies) department is the IT function for the Service Units and their business lines and supports them in their transformation.
The GCOO/CFT/ITO/SWE service is responsible for maintaining three business applications developed in Python/Django for the Finance Division (DFIN) and for Audit and Inspection (IGAD), as well as a rapid development offering (FIT) for central functions.
In this context, the Software Engineer works on application projects from requirements gathering through to partner approval of the delivered solution, as well as all run activities.
Your role in a nutshell:
The Software Engineer’s mission is to analyse, specify, design, develop, maintain, and evolve solutions that meet business partners’ needs, in compliance with deadlines and with quality, performance, security, and maintainability criteria.
They also contribute to the takeover, maintenance, and optimization of existing applications, as well as to the implementation of DevOps practices, deployment automation, and environment management.
Key responsibilities:
Analysis and design
Gather and analyse business partners’ needs;
Specify, design, and deliver solutions that meet these needs;
Consider business, technical, and quality constraints.
Development and evolution
Develop requests for enhancements, optimization, and technical-debt remediation;
Deliver Python developments on the front-end and back-end;
Contribute to the takeover of 3-tier web applications developed in Python/Django, including: configuration, Python code, APIs, DevOps practices;
Produce automated tests to validate the proper functioning of new developments.
Maintenance and operations
Ensure adaptive and corrective maintenance of applications;
Ensure maintenance and operation of applications for which MOE (Maîtrise d’Œuvre) is entrusted to ITO/SWE;
Contribute to technical support: bug fixing, deployment assistance, support during production releases;
Participate in functional testing and approvals with partners.
Deployment, environments, and DevOps
Automate and manage deployments;
Set up CI/CD pipelines;
Manage development, test, and production environments;
Use infrastructure as code (IaC) tools;
Support the team in its DevOps upskilling.
Performance, monitoring, and security
Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure application performance and availability;
Contribute to performance optimization;
Apply security best practices for applications and infrastructure, in particular: access management, secrets management, OS patching;
Ensure protection of handled data according to its confidentiality level.
Documentation and reference materials
Produce and maintain technical documentation: architecture, security, code;
Maintain reference documents and tracking tools (GitHub, JIRA, MkDocs, …).
Collective contribution
Participate in defining and implementing the team’s technical skills baseline;
Work cooperatively with other entities, production, and project teams;
Provide regular feedback to the team’s operational manager.
Expected deliverables:
Source code
Complete code for enhancement, optimization, and technical-debt remediation requests, including business logic;
Code for automated tests associated with new developments.
Documentation
Technical documentation related to architecture, security, and code;
Updates to reference documents in the dedicated tools.
Support / RUN / Maintenance
Technical support and deployment assistance;
Corrective and adaptive maintenance;
Security patch updates;
Library version upgrades;
Contribution to maintaining application availability.
