Lead Systems Engineer - DMP SRE

We are looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to join GCOO/GTE/DMP/SRE and play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our critical systems. This position sits at the intersection of development and operations, with a strong focus on engineering excellence, automation, and continuous improvement.

As part of a large and complex environment, you will contribute to scaling SRE and DevOps practices across multiple teams and applications. You will be expected to bring both deep technical expertise and a strong sense of ownership, helping drive the transformation toward more resilient, automated, and observable systems.

Security is an integral part of the role. You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and prioritizing vulnerabilities, and for coordinating their remediation with the relevant teams. You will also integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines as part of a DevSecOps approach, and contribute to the deployment of automated scanning tools. Maintaining awareness of emerging threats and ensuring timely patching will be part of your day-to-day responsibilities.

• Identify, assess, and prioritize vulnerabilities
• Drive remediation with relevant teams
• Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps)
• Maintain active security watch and patch management practices

You will also actively contribute to improving reliability processes through the creation of runbooks and playbooks, you will ensure that operational knowledge is properly documented and reusable. Beyond your individual contributions, you will help disseminate SRE best practices across the organization.

We are looking for a candidate with strong expertise in Linux and distributed systems, and solid programming skills in languages such as Python or Bash. You should have hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, Infrastructure as Code solutions, and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes. A good understanding of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK or OpenSearch is essential.

You should also have a solid background in reliability engineering, including high availability design, incident management, and vulnerability remediation. Familiarity with DevSecOps practices is expected.
