Responsibilities

Primary Objectives:

This role offers the opportunity to take a broad and flexible coverage approach across JPY and Non-JPY rates, with a high degree of autonomy to develop client relationships and drive revenue generation in a evolving platform.

Leadership:

  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across sales, trading, and structuring teams both locally and globally.

Sales & Business Development:

  • Drive revenue through proactive client engagement across JPY and Non-JPY Rates products.
  • Originate new business opportunities independently, while strengthening and expanding relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Promote SG’s full capabilities including Global Research, Trading, and cross-asset solutions.

Market Intelligence:

  • Maintain a strong understanding of global rates markets (JPY and Non-JPY), client needs, and competitor positioning.
  • Provide actionable feedback to internal stakeholders to enhance platform capabilities.

Ownership & Accountability:

  • Demonstrate high level of ownership in client coverage, revenue generation, and account development.
  • Operate effectively in a dynamic and evolving platform environment.
Duties
  • Proactively engage with institutional clients, delivering market insights and tailored solutions across currencies and products.

  • Generate individual and team revenues, meeting budget and performance targets.

  • Expand SG’s rates franchise by developing and deepening strategic relationships and increasing wallet share across key accounts through cross-product solutions.

  • Proactively identify and originate new client opportunities beyond existing coverage, expanding both product and client scope.

  • Develop and execute sales strategies across JPY and Non-JPY rates products (including swaps, bonds, and structured solutions).

  • Collaborate with global sales, trading, and structuring teams to deliver cross-product solutions.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders including FIG coverage, trading desks, and structuring teams to originate and execute transactions.

  • Take a leading role in developing and strengthening the platform and franchise in Japan.

  • Ensure full compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk controls.

Profile required

  • Proven track record of revenue generation, or strong potential to deliver measurable results.
  • Strong sales drive with a proven ability to originate and develop business independently.
  • Self-starter with the ability to operate effectively in a less structured environment compared to larger franchises.
  • High level of ownership and accountability for revenue generation and client development.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships across institutional accounts.
  • Solid understanding of rates products across JPY and/or Non-JPY markets.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to perform in a growing and evolving platform.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across regions and functions.
  • Willingness and ability to expand coverage across both JPY and Non-JPY products over time.
  • Native in Japanese and business-level English.
