Structured Finance Originator/ Relationship Manager
Responsibilities
- Support the TSC team in developing new clients and managing existing client relationships.
- Assist in growing the TRA (Letter of Credit – Issuing, Confirmation and Discounting) business with Asian clients.
- Work closely with other business units/COV to promote business.
- To promote and develop both new and existing clients/products, in line with TSC’s strategy and priorities. Will require preparation of client pitches and presetations
- Ability to cover client’s needs on daily basis, including but not limited to discounting/confirmation of Letter of Credits, inventory finance, import and export LC business, receivable finance, borrowing base structure and RCF facilities, etc.
- With ability to structure and discuss with clients on various trade products. Write up and present credit application internally. Lastly, execute banking documents to implement facilities and monitor the daily transactions.
- Perform role with full knowledge and observance of compliance rules and procedures relating to KYC, Sanctions & Embargoes and Financial Crime including Anti-Money Laundering. Ensuring compliance with both internal procedures and external regulatory rules. Follow GLBA’s and SG Group’s strategy and policies.
- Preferable having some market contacts to identify and analyse new marketing names as per TSC’s strategy, priorities and Risk Appetite Statement, and internal guildline for SG’s profitability.
- Necessary communication skills, including language to deliver coherent messages in order to work well with all internal stakeholders and clients.
- Strong commitment to hard working, flexible, motivated, inquisitive (eager to learn) and dynamic, with willingness for travel to meet clients and inspect inventories, etc. We expect she/he to work with minimal supervision and with attitude to take up duties and drive approprate actions by herself/himself.
This is an in-scope position under the MRC Scheme. As per the Guidelines on the Mandatory Reference Checking (MRC) Scheme issued by HKAB, which have been endorsed by the HKMA, Authorized Institutions that are hiring staff for Relevant Positions need to obtain specific references from past employers for whom you have worked during the preceding seven years.
Profile required
- Broad knowledge of the commodity market, the international finance sectors and the SG Group (preferable), its dynamics and the related products to propose relevant financing solutions to clients.
- Strong: (i) financial account analysis skills, (ii) structuring capabilities and (iii) knowledge of legal documentation.
- Capacity to have strong communication skills, verbal and written, including a capacity to generate pitch material that is clear, structured, compelling, and comprehensive in addressing clients’ needs and the TSC product offering.
- Good origination and marketing skills.
HKMA Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) certification is preferred

- The GLBA/F&A/TSC mission statement is to develop a worldwide business franchise in the F&A sector, with particular focus for us in Commodity trade sector in Asia by providing clients with financing solutions as well as necessary cross selling of other banking products.
- TSC provides a full range of trade financing across producers, traders, processors and end-users of energy, metals and soft commodities. We also provide traders and commodity players/processors against non-payment risk.
- TSC is both a product line and coverage with a full range of financing capabilities to service clients across the whole value supply chain from preshipment, storage, processing, distribution, etc. including other shipping and acquisition activites.
