Business Analyst with French
Responsibilities
Societe Generale Global Solution Centre (SG GSC) acts as a business solutions center for Société Générale, one of the largest European financial groups. We provide high quality professional services in over 35 countries in various business areas - Finance & Accounting, HR, IT and Corporate Operations. Our mission is to be a partner of choice, valued for owning, transforming and innovating with best-in-class talent.
The Credit Contracts team is part of the IT development organization supporting critical banking applications in the credit and operations area. You will join a highly visible transformation program focused on the redesign of the credit granting process for Enterprise and Institutional clients, with the objective of replacing legacy credit granting tools and optimizing an end-to-end process from financing opportunity detection to decision, contractualization, implementation, and disbursement.
We are looking for a skilled Business Analyst to contribute across the full delivery lifecycle of a strategic program, from understanding business needs and defining target solutions to supporting testing, implementation, and post-production activities. The scope includes the modernization of credit processes, the replacement of existing tools, the improvement of decision and document management flows, and the integration of related applications across the wider banking ecosystem.
How you will make an impact:
- Identify, analyze, and translate business needs related to end-to-end credit granting processes into clear requirements, user stories, and functional specifications.
- Contribute to the functional design of new modules covering credit request management, decision workflows, document management, implementation, guarantees, authorizations, and lifecycle events.
- Support the replacement of the old application by assessing impacts, clarifying migration and decommissioning needs, and ensuring business continuity during transition phases.
- Work on functional topics such as new credit requests, renewals, authorization modifications, decision limits, envelopes, ceilings, covenants, guarantees, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure alignment between stakeholders: business teams, development teams, IT partners, and contributors involved in interfacing or dependent applications.
- Monitor project progress and ensure regular follow-up of actions, risks, dependencies, deliverables, and functional decisions across program releases.
- Define the acceptance strategy, validate functional test cases, support test execution, and ensure follow-up of testing activities using Agile delivery tools.
- Contribute to operational readiness by preparing documentation, supporting training activities, and providing level 3 functional support when required.
- Promote process simplification, data quality, traceability, reduced manual entry, and improved user experience across the credit granting journey.
Profile required
Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst in a banking environment, ideally within credit granting, lending, credit operations, or corporate and institutional banking processes.
Strong ability to understand complex end-to-end business processes and translate them into functional requirements, user stories, impact analyses, and clear project documentation.
Good understanding of credit lifecycle concepts such as credit requests, decision workflows, guarantees, covenants, authorizations, renewals, modifications, contractualization, implementation, and disbursement.
Ability to work with multiple applications, interfaces, and data flows in a complex IT ecosystem involving legacy tools, new modules, and dependent applications.
Knowledge of simple SQL queries and ability to work with API query tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or equivalent solutions.
Proven experience working in an Agile environment, using tools such as JIRA and XRAY for requirements, delivery, and testing activities.
High level of autonomy, ownership, rigor, and organization in managing responsibilities, dependencies, risks, and follow-up actions.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and align business stakeholders, IT partners, and delivery teams around proposed solutions and operational decisions.
Fluency in French is mandatory, both written and spoken, with the ability to participate in French-only meetings and interact directly with French-speaking business users and stakeholders.
Fluent in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively in an international IT environment.
Nice to have:
Previous exposure to credit granting transformation programs, legacy application replacement, migration, or decommissioning initiatives.
Knowledge of corporate lending products, short-term and medium-term credit facilities, envelopes, ceilings, guarantees, covenants, or regulatory data requirements.
Experience coordinating with multiple IT partners or teams responsible for interfacing or dependent applications in a complex banking ecosystem.
