AVP/VP - ECM, Societe Generale Securities India (Mumbai)
Responsibilities
About the Role: The ECM Associate will play a key role in originating, structuring, and executing equity and equity linked transactions. The successful candidate will work closely with the team head, senior bankers, product partners, coverage teams, and internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality execution on IPOs, follow on offerings, QIS, block trades, convertible bonds, and other equity related financing solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Transaction Execution
o Support the end-to-end execution of equity and equity linked transactions, including IPOs, rights issues, placements, block trades, and convertible bond issuances.
o Prepare marketing materials, investor presentations, offering circulars, and transaction documentation.
o Coordinate with internal teams (Legal, Compliance, Syndicate, Sales & Trading, Research) throughout the execution process.
• Origination & Client Coverage
o Assist in preparing client pitches, market updates, and strategic financing ideas to support senior bankers in business development.
o Conduct industry, company, and equity-market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients.
o Support the team in maintaining client relationships and preparing client-specific materials.
• Market & Product Expertise
o Monitor equity and capital markets developments, including trading flows, regulatory updates, volatility trends, and sector movements.
o Develop strong expertise in equity and equity linked products, including pricing methodologies, investor dynamics, and distribution strategy.
o Respecting Chinese walls as required, work with the research team on broader and generic marketing materials
• Project Management
o Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders such as issuers, legal advisors, auditors, and stock exchanges.
o Work closely with SG Bank for implementation
o Assist in supporting discussions with SEBI where required
o Manage workstreams and timelines to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
Profile required
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
• Masters/Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Candidate with 8-10 years’ experience in investment banking & capital markets.
• Proven experience in ECM, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or related capital markets roles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong multi-tasking ability, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid understanding of Indian equity markets, regulatory environments and capital markets products.
• Self-starter – taking guidance from the ECM head but ability to run autonomously as well
• Assist seniors in formulating ideas and taking these from concept to a position or product that can be presented to clients
