Trainee: Emerging Markets Strategist
Responsibilities
- Perform extensive analytical work for the team
- Research information on sovereigns, building spreadsheets and analytics
- Put together elements of macro-economic and comparative analyses
- Assist in writing research notes on key developments impacting markets
- The candidate will be initially responsible for day-to-day support of the team, and be involved in project-based work while developing an understanding of emerging markets.
Candidates with outstanding performance will be considered for early conversion to permanent roles.
Profile required
- A background in economics/maths/computer science/econometrics/quantitative finance as an undergraduate degree is preferred.
- Proven interest in markets/investing/research or in fixed income markets/macro-economics.
- Strong analytical/modelling skills
- Proficient in excel and programming languages (VBA, R, Python)
- Prior experiences in Bloomberg Terminal
- Fluent English is mandatory. Fluent Chinese preferred.
This is a fixed term 24 month Trainee contract with Societe Generale. You will form part of the team on a full time basis. In order to apply for the Trainee position please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of the Trainee contract.
