Responsibilities

The Senior Network Engineer will be the Subject Matter Expert for Network and Security Infrastructure within Americas, directly supporting keys lines of business within our MARK division, inclusive of Equities, Derivatives, Fixed Income and the associated low latency/algo trading desks. This position will report directly to the Head of MARK Infrastructure within GTS.    
This individual should be capable of operating independently in high-pressure situations, while also being considered a leader and strong team player within the Mark Infrastructure team (peers include SMEs from Windows, Linux and Market Data).  Strong expertise in Network/Security technologies (see below), with a broad understanding of trading infrastructure (network, server, storage, market data, application) is required.  Individual will sit on the trade floor, in direct proximity of our low latency/algo trading desks.
This individual will also be a key member of the HCS global team (Data Center Hosting, Network Connectivity & Security tower), with an expectation to drive low latency strategy globally, and be instrumental in leading the network strategy and defining technical roadmaps across the Americas.  As a Technical Expert within Network/Security, responsibilities will also include mentoring and growing other HCS staff in the Americas.

•    Extensive experience with Network (L3 routing, switching) and Security (perimeter firewalls, load-balancing) technologies
•    Extensive experience with Colocation strategy, specific to proximity hosting and exchange connectivity
•    Prior experience deploying low-latency networks within the financial services industry
•    Strong experience with Data Center network architecture, builds and operations
•    Strong understanding of multicast configurations and troubleshooting
•    Strong understanding of timing synchronization, prior experience with PTP implementations  
•    Understanding of Layer 1 switching for low latency applications
•    Understanding of WiFi technologies and und-user access networking
•    Expertise in STP, HSRP, OSPF, BGP, VRF, IGMP, PIM, MSDP, PTP protocols

Profile required

Competencies:    
•    Excellent communication, leadership, strategic thinking and problem-solving aptitude. 
•    Solid understanding of Infrastructure trends and ability to align innovation with business goals.
•    Proven success building high performing technical teams.
•    Ability to identify, compare, select and implement technology solutions.  
•    Knowledge of Investment Banking, GAFA and FINTECH communities
•    Understanding of Capital Market and US Regulatory & Compliance
•    Proven crisis and incident management abilities

Qualifications:
•    15+ years of technical network experience within financial services industry
•    5+ years of leading/managing staff
•    CCIE preferred

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
