Junior Trader - Credit Repo - Analyst/Associate
Responsibilities
Division Description:
The desk is a profit and loss driven activity in charge of secured financing on fixed income credit products. It provides financing solutions both to internal and external clients of the firm on liquid credit assets (corporate and emerging markets bonds, ABS) via a large choice of financing wrappers (repo, securities lending, TRS, credit and repo facilities etc.)
- Be involved in day-today management of risks on a secured financing trading book on credit fixed income assets (corporate, ABS, EM)
- Provide leverage to institutional clients including hedged funds, regulated funds, insurance companies, among others
- Monitor various collateral exposure spanning across corporate bonds, emerging markets bonds, non-agency residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), collateralized loan obligations (CLO), Fannie and Freddie risk transfer transactions (CRT), and asset-backed securities (ABS)
- Manage liquidity needs by tapping into and building relationships with external funding sources
- Conduct thorough market analysis to help expand the platform’s product offerings, while working in partnership with the salesforce and other internal stakeholders.
- Build and expand the franchise with daily interaction with clients while conducting a business within the bank risk appetite, generating revenues, and optimizing the bank’s scarce resources
- Identify potential customers and means of developing new business
- Remain current on services and products offered throughout the firm
Ensure correct trade details are passed to support areas
Profile required
Required:
- Strong math, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to remain focused during highly stressful market conditions
- Must be able to multitask and have excellent organizational and follow-up skills
- Recognizing and developing new sales opportunities
- Good interpersonal communication skills and ease in conversing with both internal and external clients
Regulatory Skills:
- Needs to have a good understanding of the regulatory framework and rules of market exchanges and policies
- Needs to understand the regulations applicable to the performance of the role
- Needs to build a good working relationship with Compliance and other control functions
- Must have unquestioned integrity, propriety, and accountability
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required:
- Computer skills that include Word, Excel and the ability to learn latest versions of other market related technical programs
- Ability to code simple programs (VBA) and ability to develop expertise in this area
PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
- Previous relevant work experience in finance is a plus
- Good knowledge of the financial services industry and markets
- Fundamental economic analysis with both Micro and Macro focus
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Finance or Economics majors preferred)
- Masters degree a plus
- The position will require to obtain Series 7, 63 & 3 registrations.

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
