Responsibilities

Societe Generale Global Solution Center Poland is a new, growing area of the SG Warsaw Branch. Currently we are seeking an individual to join our GLBA Normative and Regulatory projects team based in Warsaw and work closely with the rest of the team based in Paris (GLBA/BTO/NRP team) dedicated to GLBA businesses.

GLBA platform is worldwide with expert teams across France and Europe, the CEEMEA region, the Americas and Asia, leveraging local client and regulatory insight within a global GLBA business framework to drive domestic, international and cross-border business, recognizing the global nature of our clients.

The GLBA/BTO/NRP mission statement is to set-up the GLBA framework to comply with regulations and Group's internal policies applicable to GLBA's activities and to support Front-Officers on all topics related to Compliance, Regulatory and Tax topics. GLBA/BTO/NRP is the point of contact of our Legal, Compliance and Tax teams to deal with project management, tools requirements definition, process update, communication, training/change management, procedures update, monitoring of indicators/incidents/remediation plan/recommendations and permanent supervision controls.

The position has an international dimension : based in Warsaw, you will be working on a daily basis with your colleagues from GLBA/BTO/NRP team in Paris with regular interactions with all GLBA staff (on a worldwide basis). 

Your future scope of responsibility will cover:

Transversal mission around Sanctions & Embargoes (S&E), Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) topics, Knowledge management, Controls related to various regulatory requirements, Coordination of the Reputation Risk assessment process and Recommendation monitoring.

1)     S&E and ABC topics

  • Ensure the documentation/communication of processes to GLBA Front Officers whenever required

  • Support Front Officers on S&E and ABC processes

  • Identify risk areas and implement effective controls/remediation/escalation plan if necessary

  • Perform dedicated controls

  • KRIs: monitor the production of indicators related to S&E and ABC topics

  • Contribute to regular S&E campaigns

  • Prepare and facilitate GLBA ABC and S&E Committees

  • Manage escalations to management ,when necessar

  • Actively participate in audit and inspection missions to ensure the relevance of recommendations

2)     IBOR Transition

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Front Office teams on IBOR transition matters, provide guidance on Benchmark rates, contractual implications and market practices

  • Lead projects related to the onboarding of new benchmark rates and indices, including the coordination of New Product Committees and associated governance requirements

  • Maintain and update IBOR guidelines, procedures and documentation to reflect evolving market standards, regulatory expectations and industry best practices

  • Prepare IBOR-related updates for GLBA governance committees

3)     Booking Policy

  • Lead the periodic review of the GLBA Booking Policy and ensure alignment with Group policies

  • Act as the primary GLBA point of contact for all Group initiatives, regulatory projects and transformation programmes relating to Booking Policy and booking model governance

  • Conduct quarterly Booking Policy control, including transaction reviews, assessment of compliance with booking principles and documentation of findings

  • Provide advice and support to Front Office teams on booking model principles, booking entity determination, KERT considerations and the application of Booking Policy requirements to new business activities and transactions

  • Prepare Booking policy-related updates for GLBA governance committees

4)     Knowledge management

  • Coordination of and contribution to all Knowledge topics : Normative Documentation monitoring, GLBA Handbook review/update, coordination of regular SG Code review/certification, Quarterly Newsletter preparation on Compliance, Regulatory & Tax topics

  • Act as the GLBA primary point of contact regarding the scoping and targeting of Group regulatory training campaigns across the GLBA perimeter worldwide : identify the appropriate subject matter experts, challenge and consolidate their inputs where necessary, and ensure timely completion of all targeting exercises in line with Group deadlines and requirements

5)     Controls related to various regulatory requirements

  • Monitoring and Controls on Non-Financial Crime Regulatory requirements: AMF certification monitoring; DFA and Volcker controls; Electronic & Audio communications certification campaign coordination; Executive Governance monitoring and controls

6)     Reputation Risk coordination

  • Support Front Officers in the Reputation Risk assessment process and organize Reputation Risk committees with the relevant stakeholders. Monitor post committee conditions and produce relevant KPIs. Update guidelines and procedure when required

7)     Recommendation monitoring

  • Prepare a synthesis of the monitoring of Audit/Inspection/ECB recommendations and other action plans to be presented during the monthly GLBA Remediation committee

A handover period will be organized to develop the required expertise on the various regulations/topics the team deals with. This expertise will be an accelerator for your career development in a financial environment

Profile required

You will be best suited for this role if you have:

  • At least 3+ years of experience in a banking environment / financial sector

  • Curiosity/interest in regulatory topics will be a key differentiating factor

  • Proficiency in English / French speaking is a nice to have

  • MS Office literacy with particular emphasis on MS Copilot, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Dynamism to lead initiatives, high interpersonal and communication skills in an international environment
