Responsibilities

Mission: The Tax Oversight Supervision Officer ensures production of daily tax figures in accordance with regulations applicable in countries where funds are distributed (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, UK, etc.). He/She is also in charge of preparing tax forms used for annual certifications and monitoring compilation and certification of annual figures (Germany, Austria, UK). He/She is part of a team assisting clients whose funds are serviced by the Bank in tax calculations, as well as any other regulatory and tax requirements for annual reporting and certification. Strong knowledge on operational taxes, withholding tax reclaims, tax reporting is required.

In addition of the supervision activities, he/she is responsible of the oversight duties with the outsourced activities with third party service providers.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Production of tax figures in compliance with the regulations in force

  • Produces the analysis of tax calculations (Germany, Belgium etc.) and ensures their publication

  • Prepares the closing packages (DDI)

  • Is in charge of maintaining the scope of Fund taxation to be calculated and instructed for payment for each institutional client to the relevant regulators.

  • Takes into account fund events and their impact on taxation (distribution, merger, tax reopening etc.)

  • Distribution calculation and instruction for payment and FA processing

  • Implements the new features of the SCD tax module and updates the settings of the daily control tool

  • Relations with customers and third parties and monitoring

  • Assists and responds to customers on specific requests

  • Responsible for coordination with third parties: certifiers and auditors, data providers (WM Daten, FundSquare, OeKB) and other SG services (EFS, FSO and tax HUB)

  • Tax watch

  • Strong knowledge on operational taxes, withholding tax reclaims, tax reporting

  • Distribution calculation and communication to the relevant authorities

  • ECB, AWV and OCF Reporting or calculation

Oversight of third-party Tax figure calculation

  • Produces the analysis of tax calculations (Germany, Belgium, etc..) and ensures their plausibility

  • Supervision and production of withholding tax reclaims and relief (United States, Ireland and other European Countries, Australia, New Zeeland, UK, etc...)

  • Is in charge of maintaining the scope of Fund taxation to be calculated and instructed for payment for each institutional client to the relevant regulators.

  • Considers fund events and their impact on taxation (distribution, merger, tax reopening, fund liquidations, etc.)

  • Implements the new features of the SCD tax module and updates the settings of the daily control tool

  • Oversight of third-party service providers of the Tax figures calculations and system feeds

  • Maintain the GPS and KPI Controls

Relations with customers and third parties and monitoring

  • Assists and responds to customers on specific requests

  • Responsible for coordination with third parties: certifiers and auditors, data providers (WM Daten, FundSquare, OeKB) and other SG services (EFS, FSO and tax HUB)

  • Tax and Legal watch participation

  • Strong knowledge on operational taxes, withholding tax reclaims, tax reporting

  • Distribution calculation and communication to the relevant authorities

  • Participation into creation and ISAE coordination

  • Maintain and participate in the monthly or quarterly Oversight meetings in relation to activities in charge

Profile required

Operational skills

  • Advanced level English

  • Knowledge of French and/or German would be an advantage

  • Expected level of education: Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3 - BAC+5) in accounting or finance with a strong interest in the investment fund industry or 5 years of experience in investment fund taxation

  • At least 5 years of international corporate tax and Fund tax experience

  • Big four experience would be an asset

  • Highly process driven, ability to communicate effectively and a team-player mindset

  • Organization, flexibility and ability to manage several files with solid analytical skills

  • Good financial and accounting knowledge

  • Good knowledge of OPC accounting tools (ex: GP3, SIMCORP)

  • Good knowledge of regulatory reporting

  • Ability to manage several files with solid analytical
