Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Division within the GTPS Middle Office (Corporate Banking), you will work closely with advisers and assistants, as well as with the Compliance, Tax, Legal and Risk departments, and all those involved in managing client relationships and credit and guarantees activities.
As part of your role, you will contribute to the smooth running of the department, with a constant focus on operational efficiency, data security and the quality of customer service. You will also take the initiative to help drive the continuous improvement of the department’s processes and organisation.
You will also develop an understanding of the Credit & Guarantees business so that you can act as a back-up within the team when required.

Key tasks (in collaboration with team experts):

  • Help manage and update client records (GTPS database), ensuring the quality and reliability of the data.
  • Assist with the receipt, checking and validation of client instructions, in accordance with internal and regulatory procedures.
  • Produce various client certificates (funds hold certificates, balance certificates, etc.).
  • Assist with the management of e-banking tools, in particular the creation and updating of contracts (Multiline).
  • Take part in the entry and monitoring of accounting transactions (e.g. recording charges on customer accounts, transactions between internal SG Luxembourg accounts).
  • Contribute to the management of RMA relationships (management, monitoring and updating of banking correspondence).
  • Proactively put forward suggestions following an analysis of processes and procedures, with a view to improving day-to-day operations 
  • Develop a practical understanding of the Credit & Guarantees business to assist the team with the administrative processing of loans and guarantees.

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance/Banking/Projects/Organization
  • A previous experience in Finance/Banking/Projects/Organization would be appreciated


    Language skills:

  • Operational level in English

Technical, operational & soft skills:

  • A good understanding of KYC (Know Your Client) issues                                    
  • A good knowledge of banking business lines, services and products                                    
  • A good knowledge of current regulations (FATCA, CRS, MiFID, EMIR)
  • Knowledge of interbank data flows (RMA/SWIFT)                                     
  • Good writing skills                                    
  • Proficiency in office software, particularly Excel                                    
  • Organisational skills, attention to detail and a meticulous approach                                    
  • Analytical and synthesis skills                                    
  • Team spirit                                    
  • Ability to work independently, proactively and adapt to changing circumstances                                   
  • Interest in credit and guarantee activities                                    
  • High level of responsibility and commitment.    

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Luxembourg is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
