Specialist Software Engineer Oracle PLSQL
Responsibilities
A Software Engineer delivers features for a Product in a business chain. As member of a Feature Team, he/she works in autonomy and in a continuous improvement approach.
- As a Software Engineer,
- Working closely with universal analysts, platform engineers and data scientists, you’ll carry out data engineering tasks to build a scalable data architecture, including data extractions and data transformation.
- Building automated data engineering pipelines
- Delivering streaming data ingestion and transformation solutions
- Participating in the data engineering community to deliver opportunities to support the bank's strategic direction.
- Developing a clear understanding of data platform cost levers to build cost effective and strategic solutions.

- Should have good understanding of the SLA/OLA and procedures so that he can work to meet those timelines by following the given process.
- Knowledge on ITIL processes on Request fulfilment, Incident management, Problem Management & Change/Release Management.
- Have an active look out for automation of recurring tasks and help business be more efficient.
- Collaboration and Communication.
- Working with seniors to deliver the tasks assigned within the prescribed quality.
- Domain Should have awareness of domain in relation to the project.

Profile required
- Mandatory Skills:
Mandatory Skills with Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle PL/SQL and SQL development for complex, enterprise-grade applications.
Proven experience working in Oracle Exadata environments (specifically Exadata Cloud - ExaCC) and familiarity with cloud database services and architecture. Expert-level SQL and PL/SQL programming skills, including dynamic SQL, stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
In-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture, internals, indexing strategies, and performance tuning techniques. Experience analyzing performance reports (AWR, ADDM, SQL Trace, TKPROF). Proficiency in UNIX/Linux environments and shell scripting for automation of daily tasks and batch processing.
Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git, JENKINS, GitHub actions) and CI/CD practices.
Domain Knowledge: Exposure to the financial services industry (IBFS) and accounting principles is a strong advantage.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Other Skills:
- Responsible for technical deliverables and handle L3 technical support.
- Having experience in RDBMS like OracleSQL is added advantage.
- Good knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Good experience on Maven, Jenkins and building CI/CD pipelines and must follow IT craftsmanship principles.
- Would be great if worked on Agile or Continuous Delivery (CD) based projects before.
- Good interpersonal skills and should be able to mentor team on BAU activities.
- Good to have exposure to Investment banking domain.
- Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude combined with good communication skills.
